And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Некоторые, пришедшие из Иудеи, учили братьев: «Если не обрежетесь по обряду Моисееву, не можете спастись».

Therefore, when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem, to the apostles and elders, about this question.

Когда же произошло разногласие и немалый спор у Павла и Варнавы с ними, то поручили Павлу, и Варнаве, и некоторым другим из них отправиться по этому делу к апостолам и пресвитерам в Иерусалим.

So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

Итак, будучи проведены церковью, они проходили Финикию и Самарию, рассказывая об обращении язычников, и производили радость великую во всех братьях.

And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders; and they reported all things that God had done with them.

По прибытии же в Иерусалим они были приняты церковью, апостолами и пресвитерами и возвестили всё, что Бог сотворил с ними и как открыл дверь веры язычникам.

But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”

Тогда встали некоторые из фарисейского учения уверовавшие и говорили, что должно обрезывать язычников и заповедовать соблюдать закон Моисеев.

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter.

Апостолы и пресвитеры собрались для рассмотрения этого дела.

And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

По долгом рассуждении Петр, встав, сказал им: «Мужи братья! Вы знаете, что Бог от дней первых избрал из нас меня, чтобы из уст моих язычники услышали слово Евангелия и уверовали.

So God, who knows the heart, [a]acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,

И Сердцеведец Бог дал им свидетельство, даровав им Духа Святого, как и нам;

and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

и не положил никакого различия между нами и ими, верой очистив сердца их.

Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Что же вы ныне искушаете Бога, желая возложить на шеи учеников иго, которого не могли понести ни отцы наши, ни мы?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus [b]Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

Но мы веруем, что благодатью Господа Иисуса Христа спасемся, как и они».

Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.

Тогда умолкло все собрание и слушало Варнаву и Павла, рассказывавших, какие знамения и чудеса сотворил Бог через них среди язычников.

And after they had [c]become silent, James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, listen to me:

После же того, как они умолкли, начал речь Иаков и сказал: «Мужи братья! Послушайте меня.

Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name.

Симон изъяснил, как Бог первоначально призрел на язычников, чтобы составить из них народ во имя Свое.

And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

И с этим согласны слова пророков, как написано:

‘After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up;

„"Потом обращусь и воссоздам скинию Давида падшую, и то, что в ней разрушено, воссоздам, и исправлю ее,

So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the [d]Lord who does all these things.’

чтобы взыскали Господа прочие люди и все народы, между которыми возвестится имя Мое", — говорит Господь, творящий все это“.

[e]“Known to God from eternity are all His works.

Ведомы Богу от вечности все дела Его.

Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God,

Поэтому я полагаю не затруднять обращающихся к Богу из язычников,

but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from [f]sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood.

а написать им, чтобы они воздерживались от оскверненного идолами, от блуда, удавленины и крови и чтобы не делали другим того, чего не хотят себе.

For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Ибо закон Моисеев от древних родов по всем городам имеет проповедующих его и читается в синагогах каждую субботу».

Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas,[g] and Silas, leading men among the brethren.

Тогда апостолы и пресвитеры со всей церковью рассудили избрать из своей среды мужей, послать их в Антиохию с Павлом и Варнавой, именно: Иуду, прозываемого Варсавой, и Силу — мужей, начальствующих между братьями.

They wrote this letter by them: The apostles, the elders, and the brethren, To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.

Написали и вручили им следующее: «Апостолы, и пресвитеры, и братья — находящимся в Антиохии, Сирии и Киликии братьям из язычников: радоваться.

Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, [h]saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law” — to whom we gave no such commandment —

Поскольку мы услышали, что некоторые, вышедшие от нас, смутили вас своими речами и поколебали ваши души, говоря, что должно обрезываться и соблюдать закон, чего мы им не поручали,

it seemed good to us, being assembled with one [i]accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

то мы, собравшись, единодушно рассудили, избрав мужей, послать их к вам с возлюбленными нашими Варнавой и Павлом —

men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

людьми, предавшими души свои за имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.

We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth.

Итак, мы послали Иуду и Силу, которые изъяснят вам то же словесно.

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:

Ибо угодно Святому Духу и нам не возлагать на вас никакого бремени более, кроме этого необходимого:

that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual[j] immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.

воздерживаться от идоложертвенного, и крови, и удавленины, и блуда и не делать другим того, чего себе не хотите. Соблюдая это, хорошо сделаете. Будьте здоровы».

So when they were sent off, they came to Antioch; and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.

Итак, отправленные пришли в Антиохию и, собрав людей, вручили письмо.

When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement.

Они же, прочитав, возрадовались этому наставлению.

Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words.

Иуда и Сила, будучи также пророками, обильным словом преподали наставление братьям и утвердили их.

And after they had stayed there for a time, they were sent back with greetings from the brethren to [k]the apostles.

Пробыв там некоторое время, они были с миром отпущены братьями к апостолам.

[l]However, it seemed good to Silas to remain there.

Но Силе рассудилось остаться там. (А Иуда возвратился в Иерусалим.)

Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Павел же и Варнава жили в Антиохии, уча и благовествуя вместе с другими многими слово Господне.

Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.”

Спустя некоторое время Павел сказал Варнаве: «Пойдем опять, посетим братьев наших по всем городам, в которых мы проповедали слово Господне, как они живут».

Now Barnabas [m]was determined to take with them John called Mark.

Варнава хотел взять с собой Иоанна, называемого Марком.

But Paul insisted that they should not take with them the one who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work.

Но Павел полагал не брать отставшего от них в Памфилии и не шедшего с ними на дело, на которое они были посланы.

Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus;

Отсюда произошло огорчение, так что они разлучились друг с другом; и Варнава, взяв Марка, отплыл на Кипр;

but Paul chose Silas and departed, being [n]commended by the brethren to the grace of God.

а Павел, избрав себе Силу, отправился, будучи поручен братьями благодати Божией.

And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

И проходил он Сирию и Киликию, утверждая церкви.
