Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Савл же одобрял убиение его. В те дни произошло великое гонение на церковь в Иерусалиме; и все, кроме апостолов, рассеялись по разным местам Иудеи и Самарии.

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

Стефана же погребли мужи благоговейные и сделали великий плач по нем.

As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.

А Савл терзал церковь, входя в дома, и, влача мужчин и женщин, отдавал в темницу.

Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.

Между тем рассеявшиеся ходили и благовествовали слово.

Then Philip went down to [a]the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.

Так, Филипп пришел в город самарийский и проповедовал им Христа.

And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Народ единодушно внимал тому, что говорил Филипп, слыша и видя, какие он творил чудеса.

For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

Ибо нечистые духи из многих, одержимых ими, выходили с великим воплем, а многие парализованные и хромые исцелялись.

And there was great joy in that city.

И была радость великая в том городе.

But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced [b]sorcery in the city and astonished the [c]people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,

Находился же в городе некий муж по имени Симон, который перед тем волхвовал и изумлял народ самарийский, выдавая себя за кого-то великого.

to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”

Ему внимали все, от малого до большого, говоря: «Этот — великая сила Божия».

And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his [d]sorceries for a long time.

А внимали ему потому, что он немалое время изумлял их волхвованиями.

But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Но когда поверили Филиппу, благовествующему о Царстве Божием и об имени Иисуса Христа, то крестились и мужчины и женщины.

Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

Уверовал и сам Симон и, крестившись, не отходил от Филиппа; и, видя совершающиеся великие силы и знамения, изумлялся.

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

Находившиеся в Иерусалиме апостолы, услышав, что самаряне приняли слово Божие, послали к ним Петра и Иоанна,

who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

которые, придя, помолились о них, чтобы они приняли Духа Святого.

For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Ибо Он не сходил еще ни на одного из них, а только были они крещены во имя Господа Иисуса.

Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Тогда возложили руки на них, и они приняли Духа Святого.

And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

Симон же, увидев, что через возложение рук апостольских дается Дух Святой, принес им деньги,

saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

говоря: «Дайте и мне власть эту, чтобы тот, на кого я возложу руки, получал Духа Святого».

But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!

Но Петр сказал ему: «Серебро твое да будет в погибель тебе, потому что ты помыслил дар Божий получить за деньги.

You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.

Нет тебе в этом части и жребия, ибо сердце твое не право пред Богом.

Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

Итак, покайся в этом грехе твоем и молись Богу; может быть, простится тебе помысел сердца твоего;

For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

ибо вижу тебя, исполненного горькой желчи и в узах неправды».

Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

Симон же сказал в ответ: «Помолитесь вы за меня Господу, дабы не постигло меня ничто из сказанного вами».

So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

Они же, засвидетельствовав и проповедав слово Господне, пошли обратно в Иерусалим и во многих селениях самарийских проповедовали Евангелие.

Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is [e]desert.

А Филиппу ангел Господень сказал: «Встань и иди на юг, на дорогу, идущую из Иерусалима в Газу, на ту, которая пуста».

So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

Он встал и пошел. И вот, один эфиоп, евнух, вельможа Кандакии, царицы эфиопской, хранитель всех сокровищ ее, приезжавший в Иерусалим для поклонения,

was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.

возвращался и, сидя на колеснице своей, читал пророка Исаию.

Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”

Дух сказал Филиппу: «Подойди и пристань к этой колеснице».

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

Филипп подошел и, услышав, что он читает пророка Исаию, сказал: «Разумеешь ли, что читаешь?»

And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

Он сказал: «Как могу разуметь, если кто не наставит меня?» — и попросил Филиппа взойти и сесть с ним.

The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

А место из Писания, которое он читал, было это: «Как овца, веден был Он на заклание, и как агнец пред стригущим его безгласен, так Он не отверзает уст Своих.

In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”

В уничижении Его суд Его совершился. Но род Его кто разъяснит? Ибо забирается от земли жизнь Его».

So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”

Евнух же сказал Филиппу: «Прошу тебя сказать, о ком это пророк говорит? О себе ли или о ком другом?»

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

Филипп отверз уста свои и, начав от этого места Писания, благовествовал ему об Иисусе.

Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”

Между тем, продолжая путь, они приехали к воде; и евнух сказал: «Вот вода. Что препятствует мне креститься?»

[f]Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Филипп же сказал ему: «Если веруешь от всего сердца, можно». Он сказал в ответ: «Верую, что Иисус Христос — Сын Божий».

So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

И приказал остановить колесницу, и сошли оба в воду, Филипп и евнух; и крестил его.

Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.

Когда же они вышли из воды, Дух Святой сошел на евнуха, а Филиппа восхитил ангел Господень, и евнух уже не видел его и продолжал путь, радуясь.

But Philip was found at [g]Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

А Филипп оказался в Азоте и, проходя, благовествовал всем городам, пока пришел в Кесарию.
