And Elihu answered and said:

Ѿвѣща́въ же є҆щѐ є҆лїѹ́съ, речѐ:

“Do you think this to be just? Do you say, ‘It is my right before God,’

что̀ сїѐ мни́лъ є҆сѝ на сѹдѣ̀; ты̀ кто̀ є҆сѝ, ѩ҆́кѡ ре́клъ є҆сѝ: пра́въ є҆́смь пред̾ гд҇емъ;

that you ask, ‘What advantage have I? How am I better off than if I had sinned?’

И҆лѝ рече́ши: что̀ сотворю̀ согрѣши́въ;

I will answer you and your friends with you.

А҆́зъ же тѝ да́мъ ѿвѣ́тъ и҆ трїе́мъ дрѹгѡ́мъ твои҄мъ.

Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you.

Воззрѝ на не́бо и҆ ви́ждь: смотри́ же на ѡ҆́блаки, ко́ль высѡ́ки сѹ́ть ѿ тебє̀.

If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?

А҆́ще согрѣши́лъ є҆сѝ, что̀ сотвори́ши; а҆́ще же и҆ мно́гѡ беззако́нновалъ є҆сѝ, что̀ мо́жеши сотвори́ти;

If you are righteous, what do you give to him? Or what does he receive from your hand?

Поне́же ѹ҆́бѡ пра́веденъ є҆сѝ, что̀ да́си є҆мѹ̀; и҆лѝ что̀ и҆з̾ рѹкѝ твоеѧ̀ во́зметъ;

Your wickedness concerns a man like yourself, and your righteousness a son of man.

Мѹ́жеви подо́бномѹ тебѣ̀ нече́стїе твоѐ, и҆ сы́нѹ человѣ́ческомѹ пра́вда твоѧ̀.

“Because of the multitude of oppressions people cry out; they call for help because of the arm of the mighty.a

Ѿ мно́жества ѡ҆клевета́емїи воззовѹ́тъ, возопїю́тъ ѿ мы́шцы мно́гихъ:

But none says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,

и҆ не речѐ: гдѣ̀ є҆́сть бг҃ъ сотвори́вый мѧ̀, ѹ҆строѧ́ѧй стражбы҄ нѡщны́ѧ,

who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’

ѿдѣлѧ́ѧй мѧ̀ ѿ четвероно́гихъ земны́хъ и҆ ѿ небе́сныхъ пти́цъ;

There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.

та́мѡ воззовѹ́тъ, и҆ не и҆́маши ѹ҆слы́шати, и҆ ѿ доса́ды ѕлы́хъ.

Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.

Безмѣ҄стнаѧ бо ви́дѣти не хо́щетъ гд҇ь: са́мъ бо вседержи́тель зри́тель є҆́сть творѧ́щихъ беззакѡ́ннаѧ, и҆ спасе́тъ мѧ̀.

How much less when you say that you do not see him, that the case is before him, and you are waiting for him!

Сѹди́сѧ же пред̾ ни́мъ, а҆́ще мо́жеши похвали́ти є҆го̀, ѩ҆́коже є҆́сть и҆ нн҃ѣ.

And now, because his anger does not punish, and he does not take much note of transgression,b

ѩ҆́кѡ нѣ́сть посѣща́ѧй гнѣ́вомъ свои́мъ, и҆ не позна̀ прегрѣше́нїѧ коегѡ́либо ѕѣлѡ̀.

Job opens his mouth in empty talk; he multiplies words without knowledge.”

Іѡвъ же всѹ́е ѿверза́етъ ѹ҆ста̀ своѧ҄, невѣ́дѣнїемъ словеса̀ ѡ҆тѧгоща́етъ.
