And Elihu continued, and said:

Приложи́въ же є҆щѐ є҆лїѹ́съ, речѐ:

“Bear with me a little, and I will show you, for I have yet something to say on God’s behalf.

пожди́ ми ма́лѡ є҆щѐ, да тѧ̀ наѹчѹ̀: є҆ще́ бо ѹ҆ менє̀ є҆́сть сло́во.

I will get my knowledge from afar and ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

Прїи́мъ хи́трость мою̀ ѿдале́ча, дѣ́лы же мои́ми пра́вєднаѧ рекѹ̀ вои́стиннѹ:

For truly my words are not false; one who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

и҆ не непра́вєдны глаго́лы без̾ пра́вды ѹ҆разѹмѣ́еши.

“Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding.

Ви́ждь же, ѩ҆́кѡ гд҇ь не ѿри́нетъ неѕло́бивагѡ:

He does not keep the wicked alive, but gives the afflicted their right.

си́ленъ крѣ́постїю сердца̀ нечести́выхъ не ѡ҆живи́тъ и҆ сѹ́дъ ни́щымъ да́стъ,

He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

не ѿи́метъ ѿ правди́вагѡ ѻ҆че́съ свои́хъ, и҆ со цари҄ на престо́лѣ посади́тъ и҆̀хъ на побѣ́дѹ, и҆ вознесѹ́тсѧ.

And if they are bound in chains and caught in the cords of affliction,

Свѧ́заннїи въ рѹчны́хъ ѹ҆́захъ ѩ҆́ти бѹ́дѹтъ ѹ҆́жами нищеты̀,

then he declares to them their work and their transgressions, that they are behaving arrogantly.

и҆ возвѣсти́тъ и҆̀мъ дѣла̀ и҆́хъ и҆ прегрѣше́нїе и҆́хъ, ѩ҆́кѡ ѹ҆крѣпѧ́тсѧ:

He opens their ears to instruction and commands that they return from iniquity.

но правди́ваго ѹ҆слы́шитъ, и҆ речѐ, ѩ҆́кѡ ѡ҆братѧ́тсѧ ѿ непра́вды.

If they listen and serve him, they complete their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness.

А҆́ще ѹ҆слы́шатъ и҆ порабо́таютъ, сконча́ютъ дни҄ своѧ҄ во благи́хъ и҆ лѣ҄та своѧ҄ въ благолѣ́потѣ:

But if they do not listen, they perish by the sword and die without knowledge.

нечести́выхъ же не спасе́тъ, занѐ не хотѣ́ша позна́ти гд҇а и҆ зане́же ѹ҆чи́ми не послѹшли́ви бѣ́ша.

“The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.

И҆ лицемѣ́ри се́рдцемъ возмѹтѧ́тъ ѩ҆́рость: не возопїю́тъ, ѩ҆́кѡ свѧза̀ и҆̀хъ:

They die in youth, and their life ends among the cult prostitutes.

да ѹ҆́мретъ ѹ҆̀бо въ ю҆́ности дѹша̀ и҆́хъ, житїе́ же и҆́хъ ѹ҆ѧзвлѧ́емо а҆́гг҃лы,

He delivers the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ear by adversity.

зане́же ѡ҆скорби́ша недѹ́жна и҆ не́мощна, сѹ́дъ же кро́ткихъ и҆зложи́тъ.

He also allured you out of distress into a broad place where there was no cramping, and what was set on your table was full of fatness.

Е҆ще́ же и҆сто́ргнѹ тѧ̀ ѿ ѹ҆́стъ вра́жїихъ: бе́здна, проли́тїе под̾ не́ю, и҆ сни́де трапе́за твоѧ̀ и҆спо́лнена тѹ́ка.

“But you are full of the judgment on the wicked; judgment and justice seize you.

Не ѡ҆скѹдѣ́етъ же ѿ пра́ведныхъ сѹ́дъ:

Beware lest wrath entice you into scoffing, and let not the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.

ѩ҆́рость же на нечести҄выѧ бѹ́детъ, нече́стїѧ ра́ди дарѡ́въ и҆́хъ, и҆̀хже прїима́хѹ на непра́вдѣ.

Will your cry for help avail to keep you from distress, or all the force of your strength?

Да не ѹ҆клони́тъ тѧ̀ во́лею ѹ҆́мъ ѿ мольбы̀ въ бѣдѣ̀ сѹ́щихъ немощны́хъ и҆ всѣ́хъ содержа́щихъ крѣ́пость.

Do not long for the night, when peoples vanish in their place.

Не привлецы̀ но́щи, є҆́же взы́ти лю́демъ вмѣ́стѡ и҆́хъ:

Take care; do not turn to iniquity, for this you have chosen rather than affliction.

но сохрани́сѧ, да не содѣ́еши ѕла̀: си́хъ бо ра́ди и҆з̾ѧ́тъ є҆сѝ ѿ нищеты̀.

Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him?

Сѐ, крѣ́пкїй ѹ҆держи́тъ крѣ́постїю свое́ю: кто́ бо є҆́сть, ѩ҆́коже то́й, си́ленъ;

Who has prescribed for him his way, or who can say, ‘You have done wrong’?

и҆ кто̀ є҆́сть и҆спытѹ́ѧй дѣ́лъ є҆гѡ̀; и҆лѝ кто̀ рекі́й: содѣ́ѧ непра́вдѹ;

“Remember to extol his work, of which men have sung.

Помѧнѝ, ѩ҆́кѡ вє́лїѧ дѣла̀ є҆гѡ̀ сѹ́ть, и҆́миже владѣ́ша мѹ́жїе.

All mankind has looked on it; man beholds it from afar.

Всѧ́къ человѣ́къ ви́дитъ въ себѣ̀, є҆ли́цы ѹ҆ѧзвлѧ́еми сѹ́ть человѣ́цы.

Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.

Сѐ, крѣ́пкїй вели́кїй, и҆ не ѹ҆вѣ́мы: число̀ лѣ́тъ є҆гѡ̀ безконе́чное:

For he draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain,

и҆зочтє́нны же є҆мѹ̀ сѹ́ть ка҄пли дождє́вныѧ, и҆ и҆злїю́тсѧ дожде́мъ во ѡ҆́блакъ:

which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly.

потекѹ́тъ ѡ҆бетша҄нїѧ, ѡ҆сѣни́ша же ѡ҆́блацы над̾ премно́гими людьмѝ: вре́мѧ поста́ви скотѹ̀, вѣ́дѧтъ же ло́жа чи́нъ. Ѡ҆ всѣ́хъ си́хъ не диви́тлитисѧ ѹ҆́мъ, и҆ не и҆змѣнѧ́етлисѧ тѝ се́рдце ѿ тѣ́ла;

Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?

И҆ а҆́ще ѹ҆разѹмѣ́етъ просте́ртїе ѡ҆́блака, ра́венство ски́нїи є҆гѡ̀:

Behold, he scatters his lightning about him and covers the roots of the sea.

сѐ, простира́етъ на ню̀ свѣ́тъ и҆ корє́нїѧ морска҄ѧ покры̀:

For by these he judges peoples; he gives food in abundance.

тѣ́ми бо сѹ́дитъ лю́демъ, да́стъ пи́щѹ могѹ́щемѹ.

He covers his hands with the lightning and commands it to strike the mark.

На рѹкѹ̀ покры̀ свѣ́тъ и҆ заповѣ́да ѡ҆ не́мъ срѣта́ющемѹ:

Its crashing declares his presence;a the cattle also declare that he rises.

возвѣсти́тъ ѡ҆ не́мъ дрѹ́гѹ своемѹ̀ гд҇ь, стѧжа́нїе, и҆ ѡ҆ непра́вдѣ.
