And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

Иисус смотрел и видел, как в храмовую кассу бросают пожертвования богатые.

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Заметил Он и бедную вдову, которая бросила две лепты,

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

И сказал: «Поверьте, эта бедная вдова бросила больше всех.

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Все бросили от избытка. А она из скудных средств бросила все, что у нее оставалось на жизнь».

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

Заговорили о Храме: о красивой каменной кладке, о священных дарах, украшающих Храм. Иисус сказал:

As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

«Придут дни, и из того, что вы здесь видите, не останется камня на камне. Все будет разрушено».

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Спрашивают Его: «Учитель! Когда это будет? Какое знамение укажет, что все уже началось?».

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Он сказал: «Будет много обманщиков. Не верьте им. Они придут под Моим именем и будут говорить: “Я Есмь” и “Настала пора.” Не идите за ними.

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Когда услышите о войнах, о мятежах, не пугайтесь. Это начало, а не конец. Конец наступит не сразу».

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Иисус продолжал: «Поднимется народ на народ и царство на царство.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Повсюду начнутся сильные землетрясения, будет голод и поветрие болезней. Появятся страшные предвестия и небывалые знамения с неба.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Но еще до этого вас самих из-за Меня будут хватать, тащить на расправу, допрашивать в синагогах и тюрьмах, во дворцах правителей и царей.

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Воспользуйтесь этим, говорите обо Мне.

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

И не ломайте голову над тем, как строить защиту:

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Я подскажу вам мудрые речи, и ни опровергнуть, ни отмахнуться от них ваши противники не смогут.

And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Предадут вас и родители, братья, родственники и друзья. Иных из вас и убьют.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Из-за Меня будут вас все ненавидеть.

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

Но и волосу с вашей головы не пропасть.

In your patience possess ye your souls.

Терпеливым постоянством перемогутся ваши души.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Когда увидите Иерусалим, окруженный войсками, знайте: это — начало его запустения.

Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Тогда лучше всем бежать из Иудеи в горы. Кто в городе — уходи, а кто за городом — не возвращайся.

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Те дни будут отмщением. Свершится все написанное.

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Горе беременным и кормящим грудью в те дни! Придет страшное бедствие на землю и гнев на этот народ —

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Одни полягут от острого меча, другие повлекутся пленниками в разные страны. Язычники будут попирать Иерусалим до тех пор, пока не истечет время язычников.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Будут знамения на солнце, на луне и на звездах, а на земле — упадок духа в народах, растерянность. И гул, бушевание на море.

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Людям сделается дурно от предчувствия страхов, надвигающихся на вселенную. Силы небесные поколеблются.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

И тогда люди увидят Сына человеческого, грядущего на облаках с несказанной силой и славой.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

С началом этих событий крепитесь и не теряйте голову. Ваше избавление не за горами».

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

И рассказал им притчу: «Посмотрите на смоковницу, да и на любое другое дерево:

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Когда оно у вас на глазах начинает оживать, вы понимаете: скоро лето.

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

И вот так же, когда это будет происходить на ваших глазах, знайте: Божье Царство на подходе.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Поверьте Моему слову: все это сбудется еще до смены поколений.

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Небо и земля имеют свой срок, а у Моих слов срока нет.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Не забывайтесь. Не превращайте свою жизнь в дикую выходку, сплошное бражничество, бездельную суету. Пусть тот самый День не застанет вас врасплох.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Он, как тенета, накроет все население земли.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Будьте всегда настороже. Молитесь, чтобы собраться вам с силами, ничего этого не делать и ни с чем таким не предстать перед Сыном человеческим».

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

Днем Иисус учил народ в Храме, а ночевать уходил на гору, называемую Масличной.

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Народ с утра приходил в Храм послушать Его.
