Когда Израиль из Египта вышел, дом Иакова — от народа с чужим языком,

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,

Иуда стал святыней1 Господа, Израиль — уделом Его.

Judah was his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

Увидев то, море прочь побежало, Иордан обратился вспять,

The sea saw it and fled, the Jordan turned back;

горы прыгали тогда, как овцы, и холмы — как ягнята.

The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.

Что с тобой, море, что ты побежало? И с тобой, Иордан, что ты вспять потек?

What ailed thee, thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou turnedst back?

Что с вами, горы? Вы прыгали, как овцы, и вы, холмы, — как ягнята.

Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams? ye hills, like lambs?

Трепещи, земля, перед Господом, перед Богом Иакова,

Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the +God of Jacob,

перед Богом, обращающим скалу в озеро полноводное и камень — в источник вод.

Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

не нам, ГОСПОДИ, не нам, а имени Твоему слава, ибо неизменна любовь Твоя, велика Твоя верность!

Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth's sake.

Неужели язычники говорить будут: «Где же их Бог?»

Wherefore should the nations say, Where then is their God?

Наш Бог — в небесах, Он делает всё, что желает.

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he pleased.

Идолы их, серебро и золото, — изделие рук человеческих.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:

Есть у них уста, но не говорят они, глаза есть у них, но они не видят;

They have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;

есть у них уши — не слышат они; нос есть у них, но нет обонянья.

They have ears, and they hear not; a nose have they, and they smell not;

Руки у них — но не осязают они, ноги, но они не ходят, их гортань и звука издать не может.

They have hands, and they handle not; feet have they, and they walk not; they give no sound through their throat.

Те, кто делает их, сами подобны им,2 как и все надеющиеся на них.

They that make them are like unto them, -- every one that confideth in them.

А ты, Израиль, надейся на ГОСПОДА, Он — помощь наша и щит!

O Israel, confide thou in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

Дом Аарона, надейся на ГОСПОДА, Он — помощь наша и щит!

House of Aaron, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

Благоговеющие пред ГОСПОДОМ, надейтесь на Него, Он — помощь наша и щит!

Ye that fear Jehovah, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

ГОСПОДЬ, всегда о нас помнивший, благословит нас: благословит Он дом Израиля, благословит Он дом Аарона.

Jehovah hath been mindful of us: he will bless, he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron;

Благословит Он тех, кто благоговеет пред ГОСПОДОМ, как малого, так и великого.

He will bless them that fear Jehovah, both the small and the great.

Да сделает ГОСПОДЬ потомство ваше многочисленным, потомство ваше и детей ваших.

Jehovah will add unto you more, unto you and unto your children.

Да благословит вас ГОСПОДЬ, сотворивший небо и землю!

Ye are blessed of Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth.

Небо — ГОСПОДНЕ оно, а землю Он дал человеку.

The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah, but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Не мертвые прославят ГОСПОДА,3 не те, кто нисходит в страну молчания,

The dead praise not Jah, neither any that go down into silence;

а мы, мы будем прославлять ГОСПОДА отныне и вовеки. Аллилуйя!

But we will bless Jah from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelujah!
