The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Начало Евангелия Иисуса Христа, Сына Божьего.

As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

У пророков было написано: пред Тобою Я пошлю Своего вестника, который возвестит о пришествии Твоем; (Исх 23:20)

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

глас вопиющего в пустыне:1 готовьтесь к встрече Господа, прямые проложите дороги для Бога нашего. (Ис 40:3)

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

И вот, из пустыни, проповедуя крещение покаяния во оставление грехов, пришёл Иоанн Креститель,

And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

к которому стали приходить жители Иерусалима и всей страны Иудейской, и все принимали крещение от него на реке Иордане, исповедуя ему грехи свои.

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

Иоанн же носил одежду из верблюжьей шерсти, подпоясанную кожаным ремнем, а питался он саранчою и диким медом.

And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

И говорил он, проповедуя: после меня придет Тот, Кто настолько превосходит меня, что я недостоин даже, склонившись, развязать ремни на сандалиях Его;

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

я крестил вас водою, а Он будет крестить вас Духом Святым.

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

В те самые дни пришёл к Иоанну на Иордан Иисус из Назарета Галилейского и принял крещение от него.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

Едва Иисус вышел из воды, как увидел разверзающиеся небеса и голубку, в образе которой Дух (Божий) сошел на Него,

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

и раздался голос с небес: Ты — Сын Мой возлюбленный, в Тебе Моё благоволение; (Быт 22:2; Пс 2:7; Ис 42:1)

And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

после чего, ведомый Духом, Он удалился в пустыню,

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

где, искушаемый сатаною, пробыл сорок дней среди зверей, и ангелы служили Ему.

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

После того как Иоанн был заключен в темницу, Иисус пошёл в Галилею и стал проповедовать, благовествуя о Царстве Божьем,

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

и так говорил Он: наступили времена, когда приблизилось Царство Божье; покайтесь и веруйте этой радостной вести.

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Однажды, проходя близ озера Галилейского, увидел Он братьев Симона и Андрея, которые ловили рыбу, закидывая в озеро сети,

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

и сказал им: следуйте за Мною, Я научу вас ловить (души) человеческие.

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

И они, бросив сети свои, тотчас последовали за Ним.

And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

Там же невдалеке увидел Он братьев Иакова и Иоанна, сыновей Заведея, которые в лодке чинили сети свои,

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

и тотчас призвал их. И они, оставив в лодке отца своего Заведея вместе с работниками, последовали за Ним.

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

И вот, приходят они в Капернаум; в первую же субботу пошёл Иисус в синагогу и проповедовал там.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

И поражались все учению Его, потому что, в отличие от книжников, Он учил словно по вдохновению свыше.

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

И вдруг находившийся в этой синагоге человек, одержимый нечистым духом, вскричал:

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

что Тебе надо от нас, Иисус Назарянин? Пришёл погубить нас? Знаю кто Ты — Святой Божий!

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Но Иисус повелел ему: замолчи и выйди из него.

And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

И дух нечистый, сотрясши одержимого так, что тот возопил громким голосом, вышел из него.

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

И все в изумлении говорили друг другу: что это? — Действительно новое учение. И духам нечистым Он повелевает, и они повинуются Ему.

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

И вскоре молва о Нём разнеслась по всем окрестностям Галилеи.

And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Выйдя из синагоги, пошли они вместе с Иаковом и Иоанном в дом Симона и Андрея.

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

А теща Симона лежала, горящая в лихорадке, и Ему сразу же сказали об этом.

And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Подойдя к ней, Иисус поднял её, взяв за руку, и недуг тотчас оставил её, и она стала прислуживать им.

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

А когда наступил вечер и зашло солнце, стали приводить к Нему всех больных и бесноватых,

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

так что вскоре весь город собрался у дверей,

And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

и многих из тех, кто страдал от различных болезней, Он исцелил и изгнал множество бесов, не позволяя им разглашать, что Он — Христос и они знают об этом.

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Рано утром, едва рассвело, Он тихо поднялся и вышел из дома и, удалясь в пустынное место, молился там.

And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

Между тем стали искать Его Симон и все бывшие с Ним,

And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

и когда нашли, говорят Ему: все разыскивают Тебя.

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

Он же сказал им: пойдемте отсюда в другие селения и города, чтобы и там проповедовать, потому что Я для этого и пришёл.

And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

И прошел Он по всей Галилее, проповедуя в синагогах и изгоняя бесов.

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Однажды подбегает к Нему прокаженный и, пав пред Ним на колени, обращается к Нему с мольбою: Господи, если захочешь, то сможешь меня очистить.

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Сжалившись над ним, Иисус прикоснулся к нему рукой и сказал: хочу, очистись.

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

Едва Он произнес эти слова, как с того сошла проказа, и он очистился,

And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

после чего Иисус тотчас отослал его, строго сказав ему:

And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

смотри же, никому ничего не говори, но пойди, покажись священнику и, как заповедал Моисей, за очищение своё принеси жертву2 во свидетельство всем.

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

А тот, едва отойдя, стал созывать людей и рассказывать всем о случившемся, поэтому Иисус уже не мог открыто войти в город,3 но пребывал вне его, в местах пустынных. И приходили к Нему отовсюду.

[1.1] «глас вопиющего в пустыне» — возможен перевод: «глас вопиющего: в пустыне...».

[1.2] «за очищение свое принеси жертву» — о законе об очищении от проказы см. Лев. 14.2 — 32.

[1.3] «не мог открыто войти в город» — по той причине, что прокаженный, возвещая всем о своем исцелении, несомненно, рассказал и то, что Иисус коснулся его рукой. Прокаженные же считались «нечистыми», и всякое прикосновение к ним оскверняло, поэтому Иисус в глазах толпы Сам мог считаться «нечистым».
