After the uproar ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them, he said farewell and departed for Macedonia.

When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece.

There he spent three months, and when a plot was made against him by the Jewsa as he was about to set sail for Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia.

где пробыл три месяца. И как раз перед тем, как он собирался отплыть в Сирию, иудеи составили против него заговор, и он решил отправиться в Сирию, пройдя снова через Македонию.

Sopater the Berean, son of Pyrrhus, accompanied him; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.

Его сопровождали Сосипатр из Верии, сын Пирра, Аристарх и Секунд из Фессалоники, Гаий из Дервы, Тимофей и двое из Азии, Тихик и Трофим.

These went on ahead and were waiting for us at Troas,

Они отправились первыми и ждали нас в Троаде.

but we sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days we came to them at Troas, where we stayed for seven days.

Мы же отплыли из Филиппии после Дней Пресных Хлебов и, пять дней спустя, присоединились к ним в Троаде, где пробыли неделю.

On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged his speech until midnight.

There were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered.

And a young man named Eutychus, sitting at the window, sank into a deep sleep as Paul talked still longer. And being overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.

Павел всё продолжал проповедь, и юноша по имени Евтих, сидевший на окне, понемногу стал засыпать. В конце концов, сон одолел его, и он упал из окна третьего этажа. Когда подняли его, был он мёртв.

But Paul went down and bent over him, and taking him in his arms, said, “Do not be alarmed, for his life is in him.”

Павел спустился вниз, припал к нему и, обняв, сказал: "Не печальтесь, ибо он ожил".

And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed.

Поднявшись наверх, он разделил хлеб и поел, и ещё долго говорил с ними, до самого рассвета, а затем ушёл.

And they took the youth away alive, and were not a little comforted.

Между тем они привели юношу домой живым и полностью утешились.

But going ahead to the ship, we set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go by land.

Мы же отплыли на корабле в Асс, чтобы потом взять там на борт Павла, ибо он велел нам сделать так, намереваясь сам идти туда пешком.

And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and went to Mitylene.

Когда он встретился с нами в Ассе, мы взяли его на корабль и отправились в Митилену.

And sailing from there we came the following day opposite Chios; the next day we touched at Samos; andb the day after that we went to Miletus.

Отплыв оттуда на следующий день, остановились неподалёку от Хиоса, на другой день мы пересекли пролив и пристали к Самосу, а днём позже прибыли в Милет.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.

Ибо Павел решил миновать Ефес, чтобы не тратить времени в Азии, так как спешил прибыть в Иерусалим по возможности до дня Пятидесятницы.

Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him.

Из Милита он послал в Ефес просить, чтобы пришли старейшины церкви,

And when they came to him, he said to them: “You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia,

и когда они прибыли, он сказал им: "Вы знаете, как я жил всё время, что был с вами с первого дня моего прибытия в Азию:

serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials that happened to me through the plots of the Jews;

я служил Господу со всей смиренностью и слезами, через многие испытания, выпавшие на мою долю по злоумышлениям иудеев.

how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house,

Я не колеблясь оповещал вас обо всём, что могло быть полезным для вас, и проповедовал всенародно и в каждом отдельном доме.

testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.c

Иудеям и грекам равно я свидетельствовал о раскаянии и обращении к Богу и о вере в нашего Господа Иисуса,

And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained byd the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there,

а теперь, повинуясь велению Духа Святого, я иду в Иерусалим и не знаю, что ждёт меня там.

except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me.

Знаю только, что в каждом городе Святой Дух предостерегает меня, говоря, что ожидают меня испытания и темница.

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Но жизнь моя не имеет для меня никакой цены, только бы мне закончить дело и служение, принятое мною от Господа Иисуса, — принести людям благую весть о великой благодати Божьей.

And now, behold, I know that none of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom will see my face again.

И я знаю теперь, что ни один из вас, среди кого я провозглашал Царство Божье, не увидит меня больше.

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all,

Поэтому я объявляю вам сегодня, что не буду в ответе, если кто-то из вас не будет спасён,

for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

ибо не колеблясь проповедовал вам волю Божью, ничего не скрывая.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God,e which he obtained with his own blood.f

Будьте же бдительны и осторожны по отношению к себе и к стаду, над которым Святой Дух поставил вас блюстителями и заботьтесь о церкви Божьей, которую обрёл Он кровью Своею.

I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

Я знаю, что когда уйду от вас, придут свирепые волки и не пощадят стада.

and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.

Даже среди вас появятся люди, извращающие правду ради того, чтобы верующие следовали за ними.

Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.

Так будьте же бдительны. Помните, что три года денно и нощно я непрестанно предупреждал вас, моля каждого со слезами.

And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Теперь же я вверяю вас Богу и слову благодати Его, которое может укрепить вас и дать наследие среди тех, кто освящён Богом.

I coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.

Когда был я с вами, то никогда не пожелал я ни денег ничьих, ни богатой одежды.

You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.

Вы сами знаете, что моим нуждам и нуждам тех, кто был со мной, послужили мои же руки.

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Как мог, показал я вам, что так тяжело трудясь, мы должны помогать слабым и помнить слова Господа Иисуса, который говорил: "Больше счастья в том, чтобы давать, чем в том, чтобы брать".

And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

И сказав это, преклонил колени вместе со всеми и молился.

And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him,

И все плакали и, обнимая, целовали его,

being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship.

сильно опечаленные, особенно его словами: "Больше не увидите меня". Затем они проводили его к кораблю.
