Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger,a Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

В церкви в Антиохии были пророки и наставники: Варнава, Симеон, называемый Нигером, Луций из Киринеи, Манаил, воспитанный вместе с правителем Иродом, и Савл.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Когда они служили Господу и постились, Святой Дух сказал: "Отошлите ко мне Варнаву и Савла, ибо они должны исполнить назначенное Мною".

Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

И, после поста и молитвы, пророки и наставники возложили на Варнаву и Савла руки и отправили их.

So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

И вот, посланные Святым Духом, они пришли в Селевкию, а оттуда отплыли на Кипр.

When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John to assist them.

Прибыв в Саламин, они провозгласили слово Божье в еврейских синагогах; Иоанн же был с ними, и помогал им.

When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain magician, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus.

И прошли они через весь остров до Пафа, где встретили волшебника и лжепророка, иудея по имени Вариисус.

He was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

Он был служителем губернатора Сергия Павла, человека разумного. Сергий Павел послал за Варнавой и Савлом и пожелал услышать слово Божье.

But Elymas the magician (for that is the meaning of his name) opposed them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.

Но Елима-волшебник (ибо так переводилось имя Вариисуса на греческий язык) всячески препятствовал им в этом и пытался отвратить губернатора от веры.

But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him

Тогда Савл, также прозванный Павлом, исполнился Духа Святого, посмотрел прямо на него и сказал:

and said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?

"О полный коварства и зла, сын дьявола, враг добродетели! Перестанешь ли ты извращать прямые пути Господни?

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking people to lead him by the hand.

Слушай же! Рука Господа на тебе, ты ослепнешь и не будешь видеть солнца до времени". И тотчас же глубокая тьма опустилась на него. И ходил он, как потерянный, стараясь найти себе поводыря.

Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

Увидев это, губернатор исполнился веры, ибо поражён был проповедью о Господе.

Now Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. And John left them and returned to Jerusalem,

Павел и те, кто был с ним, отплыли из Пафа и прибыли в Пергию, город в Памфилии, Иоанн же расстался с ними и возвратился в Иерусалим.

but they went on from Perga and came to Antioch in Pisidia. And on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

Они продолжали свой путь из Пергии и, прибыв в Антиохию Писидийскую, в субботний день вошли в синагогу и сели там.

After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, say it.”

После того как был прочитан закон Моисеев и писания пророков, главы синагоги послали сказать им: "Братья, если у вас есть слово наставления к народу, то говорите".

So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen.

Тогда Павел встал и, подав знак рукой, сказал следующее: "Народ Израиля и вы, все остальные, почитающие Бога, слушайте!

The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm he led them out of it.

Бог израильского народа избрал предков наших и возвеличил наш народ, когда тот жил ещё странником в Египте, и силой руки Своей вывел их из той земли.

And for about forty years he put up withb them in the wilderness.

И сорок лет с терпением относился к ним в пустыне.

And after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance.

Истребив семь народов в земле Ханаан, Он дал израильтянам землю в наследие.

All this took about 450 years. And after that he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.

Всё это произошло за четыреста пятьдесят лет. Затем дал Он им судей вплоть до пророка Самуила.

Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

Потом они стали просить царя, и Бог дал им Саула, сына Киса из семьи Вениамина, который правил сорок лет.

And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

А когда отстранил его, то поставил над ними царём Давида, о котором Он свидетельствовал: "Давид, сын Иессея, пришёлся Мне по сердцу, и он исполнит всё, что Я велю ему".

Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.

И из его потомства Бог, как и обещал, даровал Израилю Спасителя Иисуса.

Before his coming, John had proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

Перед Его приходом Иоанн призывал весь израильский народ креститься в доказательство того, что они покаялись в грехах.

And as John was finishing his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

Выполняя назначенное ему, Иоанн сказал: "Как вы думаете, кто я? Я не тот. Он идёт вслед за мной, Тот, у Кого я даже не достоин развязать ремень сандалии".

“Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation.

Братья мои, сыновья рода Авраамова, и все остальные, почитающие Бога! Это послано было нам слово спасения.

For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.

Жители Иерусалима и их предводители не признали Иисуса спасителем и осудили Его, исполнив таким образом слова пророков, провозглашаемые каждую субботу.

And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed.

И хотя они не нашли основания, чтобы приговорить Его к смерти, всё же просили Пилата убить Его.

And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.

Они сотворили всё то зло, которое, как сказано в Писании, должно было случиться с Иисусом, а потом сняли Его с креста и положили в гробницу.

But God raised him from the dead,

Но Бог воскресил Его из мёртвых,

and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.

и в продолжение многих дней Он являлся тем, кто пришёл вместе с Ним из Галилеи в Иерусалим. И теперь они свидетели Его перед народом.

And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers,

Мы же принесли вам благую весть о том, что обещание, данное нашим предкам,

this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm, “‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’

Бог исполнил для нас, их детей, воскресив Иисуса из мёртвых, как и написано во втором псалме: "Ты Сын Мой, сегодня Я стал Отцом Твоим".

And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way, “‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

О том же, что Он воскресил Иисуса из мёртвых, чтобы Тот не обратился в тлен, говорил Бог так: "Дам вам святые и непреложные благословения, обещанные Давиду".

Therefore he says also in another psalm, “‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’

Он и в другом псалме говорит: "Не допустишь, чтобы Святой Твой обратился в тлен".

For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption,

Но Давид, послужив в своём поколении воле Божьей, скончался, был похоронен со своими предками и обратился в тлен.

but he whom God raised up did not see corruption.

Тот же, Кого Бог воскресил из мёртвых, не обратился в тлен.

Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

И потому, братья, знайте, что через Иисуса вам возвещается отпущение грехов ваших, и во всём, в чём вы не могли быть оправданы по закону Моисея,

and by him everyone who believes is freedc from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

будет оправдан через Него каждый верующий.

Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:

Так берегитесь же, чтобы с вами не случилось сказанное пророками:

“‘Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”

"Слушайте же, глумливые, дивитесь и сгиньте, ибо Я свершаю нечто такое в ваши дни, во что не поверите. И вы не поверите этому, даже если объяснят вам".

As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath.

Когда Варнава и Павел выходили из синагоги, их попросили рассказать об этом и в следующую субботу.

And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

После собрания многие иудеи и многие из обращённых в иудейство язычников, чтивших истинного Бога, последовали за Павлом и Варнавой, те же говорили с народом и убеждали их оставаться в милости Божьей.

The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

В следующую субботу почти весь город собрался послушать слово Господне.

But when the Jewsd saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him.

Но увидев толпу, иудеи преисполнились зависти и стали возражать против того, что говорил Павел, и хулить его.

And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.

Но Павел и Варнава смело сказали: "Вам в первую очередь должно было быть принесено слово Божье, но раз вы отвергаете его и не считаете себя достойными вечной жизни, то теперь мы обратимся к язычникам,

For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

ибо так повелел нам Господь: "Я сделал Тебя светом для других народов, чтобы Ты принёс спасение всей земле".

And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

И радовались язычники, услышав это, и прославляли слово Господне. И все, избранные для жизни вечной, уверовали.

And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region.

И распространилось слово Божье по всей той местности.

But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.

Но иудеи настроили набожных почтенных женщин и первых людей города так, что те начали преследовать Павла и Варнаву и изгнали их из своих пределов.

But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium.

Павел и Варнава отряхнули пыль с ног своих на этих людей и пошли в Иконию.

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

И все ученики исполнялись радости и Духа Святого.
