Я это сказал, чтобы вы по пути не споткнулись.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

Вас отлучат от синагоги и наступит время, когда каждый, кто убивает вас, будет думать, что совершает приношение Богу.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

А поступать они так будут потому, что ни Отца, ни Меня не знают.

And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Но Я вам это сказал, чтобы, когда придет их час, вы вспомнили о Моих словах. Раньше Я не говорил вам об этом, потому что был вместе с вами.

But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

Теперь Я ухожу к Пославшему Меня, однако никто из вас не спрашивает: «Куда Ты идешь?»

But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

Но скорбь наполнила ваши сердца из-за того, что Я вам это сказал.

But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Истинно говорю вам, для вас будет лучше, если Я уйду, иначе не придет к вам Защитник. А если Я уйду, то пошлю Его к вам.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Он придет и обличит мир, открывая правду о грехе, правосудии и суде:

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

о грехе, потому что они не верят в Меня,

Of sin, because they believe not on me;

о правосудии, потому что Я иду к Отцу и вы Меня не увидите,

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

о суде, потому что Властелин этого мира осужден.

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Я сказал бы вам ещё много, но сейчас вы не сможете это принять.

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

А когда Дух истины придет, Он поведет вас к полной истине, ибо Он будет говорить не от Себя, а будет говорить, что слышит, и возвестит вам о грядущем.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Он прославит Меня, потому что возвестит вам то, что примет от Меня.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Все, что есть у Отца — Моё. Вот почему Я сказал: «Он возвестит вам то, что примет от Меня».

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Ещё немного — и вы Меня не увидите, потом ещё немного — и вы опять Меня увидите.

A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

Ученики стали переговариваться: — Что это значит «Еще немного — и вы Меня не увидите, потом ещё немного — и вы опять Меня увидите»? Что значит «Я ухожу к Отцу»?

Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

И что такое «немного»? Мы не понимаем, о чём Он говорит.

They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

Иисус понял, что они хотят спросить Его, и сказал: — Вы спрашиваете друг у друга, что значат мои слова: «Ещё немного — и вы Меня не увидите, потом ещё немного — и вы опять Меня увидите»?

Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

Истинно, истинно говорю вам: вы будете плакать и рыдать, а мир — радоваться. Вы будете скорбеть, но ваша скорбь обратится в радость.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

Женщина, когда рожает, терпит муки, ибо пришел её час. А когда родит ребенка, уже не вспоминает мук от радости, потому что в мир явился человек.

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

Так и с вами: сейчас вы печальны, но мы встретимся снова — и ваше сердце переполнится радостью, которой у вас никто не отнимет.

And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

В тот день вы ни о чём Меня не спросите. Истинно, истинно говорю вам: всё, что у Отца вы Моим именем попросите, Он даст.

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Вы Моим именем пока ещё ни о чём не просили. Просите — и получите, и ваша радость будет полной.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

До сих пор Я говорил с вами образами. Но близится время, когда Я буду говорить не образами, а прямо возвещу вам об Отце.

These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

Тогда вы Моим именем будете просить Его, и Я не говорю, что буду ходатайствовать о вас перед Отцом:

At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

Он сам любит вас, ибо вы любите Меня и верите, что Я пришел от Бога.

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Я в мир пришел от Отца, и опять покидаю мир и иду к Отцу.

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Ученики сказали: — Вот сейчас Ты говоришь прямо, а не образами.

His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

Теперь мы видим, что Ты знаешь всё и даже то, что мы хотим Тебя спросить. Поэтому мы верим, что Ты пришел от Бога.

Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

Иисус ответил: — Сейчас вы верите,

Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

но близится и пришел уже час, когда вас разгонят и каждый побежит в свою сторону, оставив Меня одного. Но Я — не один, потому что со Мной Отец.

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Я это сказал, чтобы вы мир обрели во Мне. Вы будете бедствовать в мире, но не теряйте мужества: Я победил этот мир!

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
