Когда Иисус узнал, что среди фарисеев распространилась молва, будто Он приобретает больше учеников и омывает больше народу, чем Иоанн

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

(хотя в действительности омывали его ученики, а не сам Иисус),

(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Он из Иудеи пошёл назад в Галилею.

He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

Его путь лежал через Самарию.

And he must needs go through Samaria.

Однажды Он подошел к самаритянскому городу Сихар, недалеко от участка земли, который Иаков дал своему сыну Иосифу.

Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Там был колодец Иакова. Иисус, утомленный дорогой, присел у колодца. Было около шести часов.

Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

Тут приходит самаритянка зачерпнуть воды. Иисус попросил: — Дай мне воды.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

А учеников с Ним не было, так как они пошли в город купить еды.

(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

Самаритянка удивилась: — Ты, еврей, просишь воды у меня, самаритянки? (Евреи не общались с самаритянами.)

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

Иисус ответил: — Если бы ты знала, чем может Бог одарить и Кто просит у тебя воды, ты бы сама просила Его об этом и Он дал бы тебе живой воды.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Она спросила: — Господин, тебе нечем зачерпнуть, а колодец глубок. Откуда у тебя живая вода?

The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

Неужели Ты превосходишь нашего отца Иакова, давшего нам этот колодец? Он сам из него пил, а также его дети и скот.

Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

Иисус ответил: — К пьющему эту воду снова вернется жажда.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

А пьющий ту воду, что дам ему Я, никогда не узнает жажды, но вода, которую Я дам, станет в нём источником воды, рождающей вечную жизнь.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Женщина говорит: — Дай мне такой воды, чтобы мне не испытывать жажды и не приходить сюда черпать воду!

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Иисус сказал: — Пойди позови мужа и приходи.

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

Женщина ответила: — Я не замужем. Иисус сказал: — Верно ты говоришь, что ты не замужем.

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

Ты ведь уже пять раз была замужем и твой нынешний сожитель тебе не муж. Ты сказала правду.

For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

Женщина ответила: — Господин мой, я вижу, что Ты — пророк.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

Наши предки поклонялись Богу на этой горе, а вы говорите, что поклоняться Ему нужно в Иерусалиме.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Иисус сказал ей: — Поверь мне, близится и пришел уже час, когда не на этой горе и не в Иерусалиме вы будете поклоняться Отцу.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Вы не знаете, чему поклоняетесь, а мы знаем, потому что спасение — от евреев.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Но близится и пришел уже час, когда истинные почитатели Отца будут поклоняться Ему в духе и истине. Таких почитателей и ищет Себе Отец.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Бог есть Дух, и чтущие Его должны поклоняться Ему в духе и истине.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Женщина сказала: — Я знаю, что должен придти Мешиха, или, как говорят, Помазанник. А когда придет, Он нам всё объяснит.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

Иисус ответил: — Ты с Ним говоришь: это Я и есть.

Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

В это время вернулись ученики и, увидев, что Он беседует с женщиной, удивились. Однако никто из них не спросил: «Что Тебе от нее нужно?» или «О чём Ты с ней разговариваешь?»

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

А женщина, оставив кувшин, пошла в город и позвала людей:

The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

— Пойдите посмотрите на Человека, Который рассказал мне всю мою жизнь. Не Помазанник ли Он?

Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

Они, выйдя из города, отправились к Нему.

Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

Тем временем ученики упрашивали Его: — Рабби, поешь.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

Но Он сказал: — У Меня есть пища, о которой вы не знаете.

But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

Ученики стали переговариваться: «Может быть, кто-то принес Ему поесть?»

Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

А Иисус сказал: — Моя пища — в том, чтобы исполнить волю Пославшего Меня и завершить Его дело.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Вот вы говорите: «Еще четыре месяца, а уж потом будет жатва». Но Я говорю вам: поднимите глаза и посмотрите на поля — они побелели и готовы для жатвы.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Жнец получает плату и собирает урожай для вечной жизни, так что и сеятель порадуется со жнецом.

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Выходит как в поговорке: один сеет — другой жнёт.

And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

Я жать вас послал там, где вы не трудились. Трудились другие, а вы пришли за урожаем.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

Многие самаритяне из того города поверили в Него по свидетельству женщины, утверждавшей: «Он рассказал мне всю мою жизнь».

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

Придя к Иисусу, самаритяне Его просили побыть у них, и Он там пробыл два дня.

So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

Послушав Его, ещё больше людей поверило.

And many more believed because of his own word;

Они говорили женщине: — Мы верим уже не с твоих слов, но потому что сами услышали и знаем теперь, что Он — поистине Спаситель мира!

And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Два дня спустя Иисус ушел оттуда и продолжил путь в Галилею,

Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

(Сам Иисус говорил, что пророка не ценят на родине!)

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

Галилеяне приняли Его радушно, так как они ходили в Иерусалим на праздник и видели всё, что Он сделал во время праздника.

Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

Он снова пришел в галилейскую Кану, где незадолго до этого сделал воду вином. В Кфар-Нахуме жил один царский чиновник и у него был болен сын.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

Услышав, что в Галилею пришел из Иудеи Иисус, он разыскал Его и просил придти к ним и исцелить сына, находящегося при смерти.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

Иисус сказал: — Вы не поверите, если знаков и чудес не увидите!

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Чиновник взмолился: — Господин мой, пойдем со мной, пока не умер ребенок!

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

Иисус ответил: — Иди, твой сын жив. Тот, поверив словам Иисуса, ушел.

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

На пути домой его встретили слуги и сообщили, что мальчик жив.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

Он спросил: — В котором часу ему стало лучше? Слуги ответили: — Жар прошел у него вчера, в семь часов.

Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

Тогда отец понял, что это произошло в то самое время, когда Иисус ему сказал: «Твой сын жив!» — и сам поверил и вся его семья.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

Этот, уже второй, знак Иисус сотворил, когда вернулся из Иудеи в Галилею.

This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
