Давид пел эту песню Господу в тот день, когда Господь спас его от Саула и от всех его врагов.

Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.

«Господь — моя Твердыня, моя крепость и убежище моё.

And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

Бог мой — моя Твердыня, в которой убежище я нахожу. Господь — мой щит, я обрету спасение Его силой. Он — крепость моя, моё убежище. Спаситель мой, Ты от безжалостных врагов меня избавил.

The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn[a] of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence.

Когда народ смеялся надо мной, я к Господу воззвал, и Он спас меня от моих врагов! Господь достоин моих восхвалений!

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Волны смерти грохотали вокруг меня. Поток уносил меня туда, откуда нет возврата.

“When the waves of death surrounded me, The floods of ungodliness [b]made me afraid.

Цепи ада опутали меня. И сети смерти были предо мной.

The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.

И в бедствии моём я к Господу о помощи воззвал. Я к Богу моему воззвал. Из храма Своего Он голос мой услышал, мой крик о помощи услышал Он.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears.

Земля сотряслась и заколебалась, и содрогнулись основания небес, так как разгневался на них Господь.

“Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of [c]heaven quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry.

Дым поднимался из Его ноздрей, а изо рта рвалось всепожирающее пламя, и огненные искры разлетались.

Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it.

Он раздвинул небеса и спустился, стоя на тёмном облаке.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet.

Он Херувимов оседлал и полетел, паря на крыльях ветра.

He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He [d]was seen upon the wings of the wind.

Он мраком покрыл Себя, как шатром, и воды облаков собрал Он в грозовую тучу.

He made darkness canopies around Him, Dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

Слава Господняя воссияла сквозь тучи, посыпался град, и блистали молнии.

From the brightness before Him Coals of fire were kindled.

Раскатами грома Господь Всевышний отозвался с небес и все услышали Его голос.

“The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice.

Он стрелы пустил и разогнал врагов. Он молнией блеснул и в замешательство привёл их.

He sent out arrows and scattered them; Lightning bolts, and He vanquished them.

От грозного голоса Господа, от мощного дыхания из Его ноздрей, открылось взору морское дно, и обнажились основания земли.

Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered, At the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

И руку протянув с высот, меня Он подхватил и из морей глубоких вынес.

“He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.

Он избавил меня от моих врагов могучих. От тех, кто ненависть испытывал ко мне и по силе меня превосходил.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me; For they were too strong for me.

В минуту бедствия враг на меня напал, но Господь был для меня опорой.

They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support.

Он вывел меня в безопасное место, и спас меня, потому что Он ко мне благоволит.

He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.

Господь помог мне, потому что праведен я был, за чистоту мою награды удостоил.

“The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.

Так как шёл я путём, указанным мне Господом, и не грешил я против Бога моего.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, And have not wickedly departed from my God.

Я следовал всегда законам Божьим, и от заповедей Его я никогда не отступал.

For all His judgments were before me; And as for His statutes, I did not depart from them.

Я непорочным был пред Ним и от греха остерегался.

I was also blameless before Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity.

Он видел чистоту моих поступков и наградил за праведность меня.

Therefore the Lord has [e]recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to [f]my cleanness in His eyes.

Господи, Ты предан преданным Тебе и с добротой поступаешь с добрым человеком.

“With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

Ты не обидишь тех, кто не совершил греха, но можешь перехитрить самого хитрого и подлого.

With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

Господи, Ты помогаешь покорным и взором Своим унижаешь надменных гордецов.

You will save the humble[g] people; But Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.

О, Господи, Ты — мой светильник. Тьму вокруг меня Господь превращает в свет.

“For You are my lamp, O Lord; The Lord shall enlighten my darkness.

С помощью Твоей могу я победить любое войско. С Богом моим могу взойти на вражескую стену.

For by You I can run against a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall.

Путь Бога безупречен, слово Господа надёжно и истинно. Он защищает каждого, кто верует в Него.

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Нет Бога, кроме Господа. Нет Твердыни, кроме Бога нашего.

“For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?

Бог — моя крепость! Он убирает преграды с моего пути.

[h]God is my strength and power, And He makes [i]my way perfect.

Ногам даёт Он быстроту оленя, а также способность устоять на высоте.

He makes [j]my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places.

Он к битве меня готовит и силу мне даёт, чтобы мог я стрелять из самого тугого лука.

He teaches my hands [k]to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Господи, Ты дал мне Твой щит, чтобы защитить меня. С Твоею помощью я стал великим.

“You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has made me great.

Ты расчистил передо мной тропу, чтобы мне не споткнуться о преграду.

You enlarged my path under me; So my feet did not slip.

Врага преследовал я и разбил его. Не остановился я, пока его не сокрушил.

“I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.

Враг побеждён, подняться он не в силах, поверженный, у ног моих лежит.

And I have destroyed them and wounded them, So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet.

Господи, Ты силы дал рукам для битвы, врага заставил пасть к моим ногам.

For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have [l]subdued under me those who rose against me.

Ты неприятеля заставил обратиться в бегство, позволил победить ненавидевших меня.

You have also [m]given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me.

Враги о помощи взывали, но некому было их спасти. Они молили Господа, но не ответил Он.

They looked, but there was none to save; Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.

Я разбивал их на части, превращая в прах земной. Я топтал и мял их как уличную грязь.

Then I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I trod them like dirt in the streets, And I [n]spread them out.

Ты спас меня от тех людей, которые против меня на битву вышли. Меня главою над народами поставил, и служат мне даже те, кого я раньше и не знал.

“You have also delivered me from the [o]strivings of my people; You have kept me as the head of the nations. A people I have not known shall serve me.

Чужестранцы беспомощно падают передо мной. И только услышав обо мне, они мне повинуются.

The foreigners submit to me; As soon as they hear, they obey me.

Они слабеют от страха и, дрожа, выходят из своих убежищ.

The foreigners fade away, And [p]come frightened from their hideouts.

Жив Господь! Да будет благословенна моя Твердыня! Велик Господь — моя Твердыня, дарующая мне спасение!

“The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!

Он — Бог, мстящий неприятелям моим; Бог, повергающий к моим ногам народы.

It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me;

Ты защитил меня, дал мне спасение от неприятеля, помог разбить врагов моих жестоких.

He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.

Господи, Тебя я буду восхвалять среди народов, Твоё я имя буду прославлять!

Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name.

Господь помогает одержать победы тому царю, которого избрал. Являет Он великую любовь тому правителю, которого помазал: Давиду и его потомкам Он будет предан до конца времён!»

“He is the tower of salvation to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.”
