После этих слов Иисус с учениками вышел. Пройдя долину Кидрона, они вошли в сад.

When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered.

А это место знал и предавший Его Иуда, так как Иисус там часто встречался с учениками.

And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples.

Поэтому Иуда и пришел туда с римской когортой и стражниками, которых ему дали первосвященники и фарисеи. Они были с факелами, фонарями и при оружии.

Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

Иисус, зная всё, что с Ним случится, вышел вперед и спросил: — Кого вы ищете?

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

Они ответили: — Иисуса Назарея. Иисус сказал: — Это — Я. С ними стоял и Иуда, который выдал Его.

They answered Him, “Jesus [a]of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

Когда Он сказал «это — Я», они, отступив назад, пали ниц.

Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

Иисус опять спросил: — Кого вы ищете? — а они ответили: — Иисуса Назарея.

Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Иисус говорит: — Я сказал вам, что это — Я. Если вы ищете Меня, отпустите остальных.

Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,”

Он сказал это, чтобы исполнилось Его слово: «Тех, кого Ты Мне дал, Я не потерял».

that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

Тут Шимон Петр выхватил меч, который носил с собой, ударил слугу первосвященника и отрубил ему правое ухо. Слугу звали Малх.

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Иисус сказал Петру: — Вложи меч в ножны. Чашу, которую мне дал Отец, неужели я не выпью?

So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”

Тогда когорта с трибуном и еврейские стражники схватили Иисуса и, связав Его,

Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

отвели сперва к Хана-ну, так как он был тестем Кайафы в тот год первосвященника.

And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year.

Это был тот самый Кайафа, который подал евреям мысль, что было бы благом одному человеку умереть за народ.

Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was [b]expedient that one man should die for the people.

Шимон Петр и другой ученик пошли вслед за Иисусом. Этот ученик был знакомым первосвященника и смог войти за Иисусом во двор,

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another[c] disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.

тогда как Петр остался за воротами. Однако другой ученик, знакомый первосвященника, вернувшись и переговорив с привратницей, провел во двор и Петра.

But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in.

Другая привратница спросила Петра: — Ты что, тоже из Его учеников? Петр ответил: — Нет.

Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He said, “I am not.”

Стоявшие там слуги и стражники от холода развели огонь и грелись. Стоял и грелся с ними и Петр.

Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself.

В это время первосвященник расспрашивал Иисуса о Его учениках и учении.

The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.

Иисус ответил: — Я обращался к миру открыто, Я учил только в синагоге и в Храме, где собираются все евреи, а тайно не говорил ничего.

Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where [d]the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing.

Что Ты меня расспрашиваешь? Спроси, что Я говорил, у тех, кто слышал: они знают, что Я сказал.

Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.”

Когда Он это сказал, рядом стоявший стражник ударил Его по лицу со словами: — Так Ты отвечаешь первосвященнику!

And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck[e] Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”

Иисус ответил: — Если Я что-то не так сказал, докажи, что Я неправ, а если Я прав, за что Ты меня бьешь?

Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”

Тогда Ханан отправил Иисуса связанным к Кайафе, первосвященнику.

Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

А Шимон Петр стоял и грелся. Его спросили: — Ты что, тоже из Его учеников? Тот ответил: — Нет.

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not!”

Один из слуг первосвященника, родственник того, кому Петр отрубил ухо, спросил: — Разве не тебя я видел с Ним в саду?

One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”

Петр опять ответил: — Нет, — и тотчас запел петух.

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

От Кайафы Иисуса повели в преторий. Было раннее утро и сопровождавшие Иисуса в преторий не вошли, чтобы не соприкоснуться с нечистым и не лишать себя пасхальной трапезы.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the [f]Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

Тогда Пилат вышел к ним сам и спросил: — В чем вы Его обвиняете?

Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”

Они ответили: — Если бы Он не был преступником, мы бы не передали Его к тебе.

They answered and said to him, “If He were not [g]an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”

Пилат сказал: — Возьмите Его себе и судите по своему Закону. Евреи ответили: — Нам не позволено карать смертной казнью, —

Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

чтобы исполнились слова Иисуса, которыми Он сказал, какой смертью умрет.

that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die.

Пилат вернулся в преторий, вызвал Иисуса и спросил: — Ты царь евреев?

Then Pilate entered the [h]Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

В ответ Иисус спросил и его: — Этот вопрос твой собственный или тебе обо Мне сказали другие?

Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”

Пилат ответил: — Разве я еврей? Мне Тебя выдали твой народ и первосвященники. Что Ты сделал?

Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

Иисус ответил: — Моё царство — не от этого мира. Если бы оно было от этого мира, Мои слуги за Меня бы сражались, чтобы не попал Я в руки евреев. Но Моё царство — не отсюда.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

Пилат спросил: — Значит, Ты всё-таки царь? Иисус ответил: — Ты говоришь, что Я — царь. Я для того родился и пришел в мир, чтобы свидетельствовать об истине. Всякий, кто причастен к истине, слушает Меня.

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Пилат сказал: — Что такое истина? — и после этих слов снова вышел к евреям и сказал: — Я считаю, что Он ни в чём не виноват.

Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.

А у вас есть обычай, чтобы я отпускал вам на Пасху одного узника. Хотите отпущу вам «царя евреев»?

“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

Но они закричали: — Нет, не его! Отпусти Бар-Аббу! — А Бар-Абба был разбойник.

Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
