The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.

Закон — лишь тень грядущего, а не образ того, что будет. И потому он не может сделать безупречными молящихся Богу и приносящих каждый год одни и те же жертвы.

If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.

Если бы закон мог сделать их совершенными, разве не перестали бы они приносить жертвы? Ибо в таком случае молящиеся очистились бы раз и навсегда и не чувствовали бы больше своих грехов.

But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year.

Но эти жертвоприношения каждый год напоминают о грехах.

For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Ибо невозможно, чтобы кровь телят и козлят искупала грехи.

That is why, when Christa came into the world, he said to God, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer.

А потому, когда Он пришёл в мир, то сказал: "О Боже, Ты не хотел жертв и приношений, но приготовил Тело для Меня.

You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin.

Тебя не радуют приношения убитых и сожжённых животных и жертвы, принесённые во искупление грехов.

Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God — as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”b

Тогда сказал Я: "Вот Я! Как написано обо Мне в книге закона: Я пришёл, чтобы исполнить волю Твою, о Боже!"

First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses).

Сначала Он сказал: "О Боже, Ты не довольствуешься приношениями убитых и сожжённых животных, и не радуют Тебя жертвы, принесённые во искупление грехов". (Все эти жертвоприношения установлены законом.)

Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.

Потом сказал Он: "Вот Я! Я пришёл исполнить волю Твою, о Боже!" И этим Бог отменяет первый порядок принесения жертв и утверждает новый порядок.

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

Христос был послушен Божьей воле и потому сделал нас святыми, принеся Своё Тело в жертву раз и навсегда.

Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.

Каждый день священники встают и исполняют свои обряды и предлагают одни и те же жертвы изо дня в день, и жертвы эти не могут снять с них грехов.

But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

Он же принёс одну жертву за грехи на все времена и воссел по правую руку от Бога.

There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet.

И теперь Он ожидает, что Его враги будут повергнуты к ногам Его.

For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.

Ибо этим одним приношением Он сделал совершенными на все времена тех, кто становятся святыми.

And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says,

Святой Дух также свидетельствует об этом перед нами. Ибо сказано:

“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day,c says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”d

"Вот такое соглашение заключу Я с ними после этих дней", — говорит Господь.

Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”e

И ещё говорит Он: "Я вложу законы Свои в сердца их и запишу в умах у них, и прощу им проступки их и не буду о них вспоминать."

And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.

И после того как все эти грехи прощены, нет больше нужды в приношениях.

And so, dear brothers and sisters,f we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

И посему, братья и сёстры, мы уверены в том, что войдём в Святое Святых благодаря Крови Иисуса

By his death,g Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.

новым живым путём, который открыл Он для нас через завесу, то есть Тело Своё.

And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house,

И есть у нас великий священник в Доме Божьем.

let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Так приблизимся же к Богу чистосердечные и исполненные веры, с сердцами, омытыми от греховной совести, и телами, омытыми чистой водой.

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Будем же держаться надежды, которую проповедуем, ибо Богу, Кто дал нам обещание, можно довериться.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Будем заботиться друг о друге, побуждать друг друга к любви и добрым деяниям.

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Не будем отказываться от совместных встреч, как у некоторых вошло в привычку. Будем ободрять друг друга и будем ещё ревностнее во всём, осознавая приближение того "дня".

Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.

Ибо, если мы будем намеренно продолжать грешить, после того как уже познали истину, то нечем больше станет искупать грехи,

There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.

а останется только со страхом ожидать суда и адского огня, который поглотит тех, кто идёт против Бога.

For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Всякого, кто отрицал закон Моисеев, предавали смерти на основании показаний двух или трёх свидетелей.

Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.

Подумайте же, насколько более страшного наказания заслуживает тот, кто проявляет ненависть к Сыну Божьему, не признаёт священной Крови нового соглашения, той Крови, что освятила его, и оскорбляет благодатного Духа Божьего!

For we know the one who said, “I will take revenge. I will pay them back.”h He also said, “The LORD will judge his own people.”i

Ибо мы знаем Того, Кто сказал: "Мщение принадлежит Мне — Я отплачу." И ещё сказал Бог: "Господь будет судить Свой народ".

It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Страшнее страшного попасть в руки живого Бога.

Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.j Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering.

Вспомните те прежние дни, когда, едва просветившись благодаря благовестию, вы претерпели жестокие страдания.

Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things.

Иногда вас всенародно высмеивали и поносили, иногда вы были сотоварищами тех, кто претерпевал такое.

You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

Ибо вы не только разделили страдания тех, кто в тюрьме, но и без печали приняли то, что вас лишили имущества, зная, что у вас есть нечто лучшее и непреходящее.

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!

Не отрекайтесь же от этой уверенности, ибо она принесёт вам великую награду.

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

Продолжайте быть терпеливыми, чтобы, когда вы исполните волю Божью, получить то, что обещано Им.

“For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.

Осталось уже совсем немного, и "Грядущий придёт без промедления.

And my righteous ones will live by faith.k But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”l

Праведный передо Мной будет жить, благодаря своей вере. Если же он отвернётся в страхе, то не будет ему Моего благоволения".

But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

Мы же не из колеблющихся на погибель, но из тех, кто сохраняет веру ко спасению.
