Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside.

Сшедшу же ему с горы, вслед его идяху народи мнози.

Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”

И се, прокажен пришед кланяшеся ему, глаголя: Господи, аще хощеши, можеши мя очистити.

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.

И простер руку Иисус, коснуся ему, глаголя: хощу, очистися. И абие очистися ему проказа.

Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.a This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”

И глагола ему Иисус: виждь, ни комуже повеждь: но шед покажися иереови и принеси дар, егоже повеле (в законе) моисей, во свидетелство им.

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officerb came and pleaded with him,

Вшедшу же ему в капернаум, приступи к нему сотник, моля его

“Lord, my young servantc lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”

и глаголя: Господи, отрок мой лежит в дому разслаблен, люте стражда.

Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.”

И глагола ему Иисус: аз пришед изцелю его.

But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.

И отвещав сотник, рече (ему): Господи, несмь достоин, да под кров мой внидеши: но токмо рцы слово, и изцелеет отрок мой:

I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”

ибо аз человек есмь под властию, имый под собою воины: и глаголю сему: иди, и идет: и другому: прииди, и приходит: и рабу моему: сотвори сие, и сотворит.

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!

Слышав же Иисус, удивися, и рече грядущым по нем: аминь глаголю вам: ни во израили толики веры обретох.

And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world — from east and west — and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.

глаголю же вам, яко мнози от восток и запад приидут и возлягут со авраамом и исааком и иаковом во Царствии небеснем:

But many Israelites — those for whom the Kingdom was prepared — will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

сынове же царствия изгнани будут во тму кромешнюю: ту будет плачь и скрежет зубом.

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

И рече Иисус сотнику: иди, и якоже веровал еси, буди тебе. И изцеле отрок его в той час.

When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever.

И пришед Иисус в дом петров, виде тещу его лежащу и огнем жегому,

But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him.

и прикоснуся руце ея, и остави ю огнь: и воста и служаше ему.

That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick.

Позде же бывшу, приведоша к нему бесны многи: и изгна духи словом и вся болящыя изцели:

This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”d

да сбудется реченное исаием пророком, глаголющим: той недуги нашя прият и болезни понесе.

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.

Видев же Иисус многи народы окрест себе, повеле (учеником) ити на он пол.

Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

И приступль един книжник, рече ему: учителю, иду по тебе, аможе аще идеши.

But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Mane has no place even to lay his head.”

глагола ему Иисус: лиси язвины имут, и птицы небесныя гнезда: Сын же Человеческий не имать где главы подклонити.

Another of his disciples said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”

Другий же от ученик его рече ему: Господи, повели ми прежде ити и погребсти отца моего.

But Jesus told him, “Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead.f”

Иисус же рече ему: гряди по мне и остави мертвых погребсти своя мертвецы.

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.

И влезшу ему в корабль, по нем идоша ученицы его.

Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

И се, трус велик бысть в мори, якоже кораблю покрыватися волнами: той же спаше.

The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

И пришедше ученицы его возбудиша его, глаголюще: Господи, спаси ны, погибаем.

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

И глагола им: что страшливи есте, маловери? Тогда востав запрети ветром и морю, и бысть тишина велия.

The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

Человецы же чудишася, глаголюще: кто есть сей, яко и ветри и море послушают его?

When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes,g two men who were possessed by demons met him. They came out of the tombs and were so violent that no one could go through that area.

И пришедшу ему на он пол, в страну гергесинскую, сретоста его два бесна от гроб исходяща, люта зело, яко не мощи ни кому минути путем тем.

They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?”

И се, возописта глаголюща: что нама и тебе, Иисусе Сыне Божий? пришел еси семо прежде времене мучити нас.

There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance.

Бяше же далече от нею стадо свиний много пасомо.

So the demons begged, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”

Беси же моляху его, глаголюще: аще изгониши ны, повели нам ити в стадо свиное.

“All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.

И рече им: идите. Они же изшедше идоша в стадо свиное: и се, (абие) устремися стадо все по брегу в море, и утопоша в водах.

The herdsmen fled to the nearby town, telling everyone what happened to the demon-possessed men.

Пасущии же бежаша, и шедше во град, возвестиша вся, и о бесною.

Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone.

И се, весь град изыде в сретение Иисусови: и видевше его, молиша, яко дабы прешел от предел их.
