Наступил день Пятидесятницы. Все собрались в одном месте.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

Внезапно с неба приблизился шум, как от мощного движения ветра, и заполнил весь дом, где они сидели.

And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

Появились огни, наподобие разделяющихся языков, и по одному сели на каждого из них.

And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and resteda on each one of them.

Все исполнились Святого Духа и заговорили не своими языками: Дух сообщил им всем способность так вещать.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Разноязычные благочестивые иудеи из иностранцев, оказавшиеся тогда в Иерусалиме,

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.

Толпами пришли на шум. И никто не мог взять в толк, отчего каждому слышится свое наречие.

And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

Это было невероятно, и они с удивлением говорили: «Все они галилеяне, разве нет? Как же они так говорят,

And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

Что каждому из нас слышится свое родное наречие:

And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?

Парфянам, и мидянам, и эламитам, и жителям Месопотамии, Иудеи и Каппадокии, Понта и Азии,

Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

Фригии и Памфилии, Египта и граничащих с Киреной областей Ливии, и заезжим римлянам, иудеям и прозелитам,

Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,

Критянам и арабам? Каждому из нас на нашем языке они говорят о великих Божьих делах».

both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians — we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”

Им это казалось удивительным, и они, недоумевая, спрашивали друг у друга: «Как это понимать?».

And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

Но коекто с насмешкой говорил: «Это у них от сладкого вина».

But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Вышел Петр и от других одиннадцати, возвысив голос, обратился к толпе: «Иудеи и все вы, жители Иерусалима! Вы все поймете, только выслушайте, что скажу.

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.

Они не пьяны, как вы думаете, в этот девятый лишь час утра.

For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b

А предречено через пророка Иоиля:

But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

“Будут последние дни, — говорит Бог. — Пролью Дух Свой на всех и каждого. Ваши сыновья и дочери будут пророчествовать. Юношей посетят видения и старцев — вещие сны.

“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;

В те дни пролью Дух Свой на рабов и рабынь — и будут пророчествовать.

even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

Сотворю чудеса наверху в небе и знамения внизу на земле: кровь, и огонь, и пелена дыма.

And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;

Солнце обернется тьмой и луна — кровью. Придет День Господень, великий, бесподобный.

the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

И будет: кто воззовет к имени Господа — спасется.”

And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

Послушайте, что я скажу вам, израильтяне! Иисуса Назарянина, человека со всеми Его явными признаками силы, чудесами и знамениями от Бога и Богом через Него сотворенными у вас на глазах, — это вы должны помнить, —

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know —

Не Его ли, отданного вам по предначертанию и предвидению Божьему, вы руками язычников взяли и, распяв на кресте, убили?

this Jesus,c delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.

Но Бог воскресил Его, разомкнув узы смерти, потому что удержать Его было не в ее власти.

God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

Давид говорит о Нем так: “Видел я перед собой Господа непрестанно. Он по правую мою руку — и не страшны мне страхи.

For David says concerning him, “‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;

Радость на сердце у меня и восторги на языке. Плоти моей подается живая надежда:

therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope.

Душу мою Ты не оставишь в аду, не дашь Святому Твоему взяться тлением.

For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.

Ты дал мне познание путей жизни. Ты исполнишь меня радостью перед Твоим лицом.”

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

Мужи братья! Заручившись вашим позволением, наберусь смелости сказать о патриархе Давиде: он умер и погребен, и его гробница по сей день тут с нами.

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

Он был пророком и помнил, что от Бога получил с клятвой обещание: Восседающий на его престоле будет его потомком.

Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,

Еще тогда он сказал наперед о воскресении Христа, что не оставлена Его душа в аду и плоть Его не взялась тлением.

he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.

Этого Иисуса Бог воскресил, чему мы все свидетели.

This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.

Он был вознесен к правой руке Божьей и принял от Отца обещанный дар Святого Духа. Его излияние вы сейчас видите и слышите.

Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

Нет, не Давид вознесся на небеса. Он сам говорит: “Сказал Господь Господу моему: “Сядь по правую Мою руку,

For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

Пока не повергну Твоих врагов Тебе под ноги.”

until I make your enemies your footstool.”’

Знай же до конца, весь дом Израилев, что Бог сделал Господом и Христом того самого Иисуса, которого вы распяли».

Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Болью отозвались их сердца на эти слова, и они сказали Петру и другим апостолам: «Что нам делать, мужи братья?».

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Петр ответил: «Пусть каждый покается и во имя Иисуса Христа примет крещение. Тогда с отпущением грехов будет вам дар — Святой Дух.

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Обещание касается и вас, и ваших детей, и тех, кто далеко, — всех, кого бы ни призвал наш Господь Бог».

For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

Он привел немало других доводов в подтверждение сказанного и закончил призывом: «Спасайтесь от участи этого бесчестного поколения».

And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”

Люди искренне прониклись его словом, приняли крещение. В тот день прибавилось около трех тысяч душ.

So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Учение апостолов и обычай товарищества, преломление хлеба и молитвы прочно вошли в их жизнь.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Страх посетил каждого человека. Много славных дел и чудес совершили апостолы.

And awed came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

Все верующие держались вместе, и все у них было общее.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common.

Они продавали свою собственность и пожитки, и это делилось на всех, кто в чем нуждался.

And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

Каждый день они все как один шли на молитву в Храме, а еще собирались по домам и принимали пищу с преломлением хлеба в беспечальной приятности и сердечной простоте.

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,

И хвалили Бога. Они пользовались расположением всего народа. Господь каждый день прибавлял новых спасаемых.

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
