And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Когда наступил день Пятидесятницы, они собрались все вместе.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Внезапно раздался шум с неба, как от мощного порыва ветра, он наполнил весь тот дом, в котором они находились.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

И они увидели словно бы разделяющиеся языки пламени, которые сошли на каждого из них.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Все исполнились Святого Духа и стали говорить на иных языках — это Дух дал им так проповедовать.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

В Иерусалиме тогда находились благочестивые иудеи из тех, что живут среди остальных народов, какие только есть под небом.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

И когда послышался этот шум, вокруг дома собралась толпа. Люди недоумевали: каждый слышал, что апостолы говорят на его собственном языке.

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

В изумлении они говорили:— Разве все они не галилеяне?

And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Как же это каждый из нас слышит, как они говорят на его собственном родном языке?

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

И парфяне, и мидийцы, и эламиты, жители Месопотамии, Иудеи, Каппадокии, Понта и Асии,

Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Фригии и Памфилии, Египта и окрестностей Кирены, что в Ливии, и оказавшиеся здесь римляне,

Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

будь то иудеи или прозелиты, а еще критяне и арабы — все мы слышим, как они говорят на наших языках о великих Божьих делах!

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Все изумлялись и недоумевали, спрашивая друг друга:— Что это такое происходит?

Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Находились и такие, кто говорил с издевкой:— Да они напились подслащеного вина!

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Тогда Петр вместе с одиннадцатью встал и во весь голос им объявил:— Иудеи и все, кто живет в Иерусалиме! Прислушайтесь к моим словам и пусть вам будет известно:

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

они не пьяны, как вам кажется, ведь еще только утро.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Но именно об этом говорил пророк Иоиль:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

«И будет в последние дни, — говорит Бог, —изолью Мой Дух на всякую плоть,будут пророчествовать ваши сыны и дочери ваши,вашим юношам откроются видения,ваши старцы увидят вещие сны.

And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

На рабов и на рабынь Моихизолью в те дни Мой Дух,и станут они пророками.

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Покажу чудеса на небе вверхуи на земле внизу:кровь, и огонь, и клубы дыма.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Солнце обернется тьмой,а луна — кровьюпрежде, чем придет День Господа —великий и страшный.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Но всякий, кто призовет имя Господне,обретет спасение».

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Израильтяне, выслушайте мои слова! Был человек — Иисус из Назарета, и Бог подтвердил Его правоту могучими чудесами и знамениями, которые Бог сотворил Его руками прямо среди вас, как вы и сами знаете.

Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

По Божьему замыслу и предвиденью Он был выдан вам, а вы Его руками язычников пригвоздили ко кресту.

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Но Бог воскресил Его, избавив от уз смерти, ведь не в ее силах было Его удержать.

For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Это о Нем говорит Давид:«Господа постоянно я видел пред собой,Он по правую мою руку — не поколеблюсь!

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Потому возрадовалось сердце мое,возликовал мой язык,будет в надежде покоиться плоть моя.

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Не оставишь во аде ты душу мою,не дашь тлению коснуться того, кто Тебя чтит.

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Путь жизни Ты дал мне познатьи радостью наполнишь пред лицом Твоим».

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Братья! Позвольте сказать вам прямо: праотец Давид умер и похоронен, его могила сохранилась у нас и по сей день.

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Но он был пророком и знал, что клятвенно обещал ему Бог возвести на его престол одного из его потомков.

He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Зная о воскресении Христа заранее, он сказал об этом: «не оставлен Он во аде, плоть его избежала тления».

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Иисус и есть Тот, Кого воскресил Бог, и все мы тому свидетели.

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Он был вознесен и воссел по правую руку от Бога, Он принял Духа, как и было обещано Отцом. То, что вы видите и слышите, и есть излияние этого Духа.

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Давид не восходил на небеса, но он говорит: «Сказал Господь Господу моему: “Воссядь по правую руку от Меня,

Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

доколе не повергну врагов Твоих под ноги Тебе”».

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Так пусть твердо знает весь Израиль: Бог сделал Господом и Христом того самого Иисуса, Которого вы распяли.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Те, кто это слышал, растрогались до глубины души и спросили Петра вместе с другими апостолами:— Что же нам теперь делать, братья?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Петр им ответил:— Покайтесь! И пусть каждый из вас, чтобы ему простились грехи, примет крещение во имя Иисуса Христа. Тогда вы получите дар — Святого Духа.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Ведь именно это и было обещано вам и детям вашим, и тем, кто сейчас вдали, кого еще призовет Господь, ваш Бог.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Петр сказал и много иных слов им во свидетельство, чтобы призвать их спастись от этого развратного рода людей.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Кто принял его весть, те крестились; в тот день присоединилось около трех тысяч душ.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Они постоянно внимали учению апостолов и общались с ними в преломлении хлеба и в молитвах.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Всякая душа пребывала в страхе, потому что через апостолов совершались многие чудеса и знамения.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Все, кто уверовал, держались вместе и всё было у них общим.

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Они продавали свое имущество и владения и распределяли средства сообразно потребностям каждого.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Каждый день они непрестанно и единодушно молились в Храме, а по домам преломляли хлеб и принимали пищу с радостью и открытым сердцем,

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

прославляя Бога и пользуясь расположением всего народа. А Господь каждый день прибавлял к их числу тех, кто искал спасения.
