And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases.

Созвав Двенадцать и наделив их властью изгонять демонов и излечивать недуги,

And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.

Иисус послал их проповедовать Царство Божье и исцелять больных,

And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece.

сказав: — Не берите с собой ничего: ни палки, ни сумы, ни хлеба, ни денег, ни сменной рубахи.

“Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that city.

В какой дом войдете, там и ночуйте, а потом продолжайте свой путь.

“And as for those who do not receive you, as you go out from that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

Если вас плохо встретят, то, покидая город, стряхните пыль с ног, как свидетельство против них.

Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

И стали они ходить по селам, провозглашая Весть и исцеляя больных повсюду.

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was happening; and he was greatly perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,

Узнав о происходящем, тетрарх Ирод пришел в замешательство. Ведь одни говорили, что это Иоанн воскрес из мертвых,

and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen again.

по словам других, явился Илия, а по мнению третьих, ожил кто-то из древних пророков.

Herod said, “I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see Him.

Но Ирод сказал: — Иоанна я обезглавил. Кто же тогда Этот, о Котором я слышу такое? И он захотел увидеть Его.

When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. Taking them with Him, He withdrew by Himself to a city called Bethsaida.

Вернувшись, апостолы рассказали Иисусу о сделанном. А Он повел их в город Бет-Цайда.

But the crowds were aware of this and followed Him; and welcoming them, He began speaking to them about the kingdom of God and curing those who had need of healing.

Толпы людей, узнав об этом, последовали за Ним. Приветствовав их, Он рассказывал им о Царстве Божьем, а тех, кто нуждался в лечении, исцелял.

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place.”

Когда стало смеркаться, Двенадцать подошли к Нему и сказали: — Отпусти людей, чтобы они нашли себе кров и пищу в окрестных селах и деревнях, потому что здесь мы в безлюдном месте.

But He said to them, “You give them something to eat!” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people.”

Он сказал: — Так дайте же им поесть! Они ответили: — У нас только пять хлебов и две рыбы. Надо было бы пойти и купить еды, чтобы всем этим людям хватило.

(For there were about five thousand men.) And He said to His disciples, “Have them sit down to eat in groups of about fifty each.”

А было там около пяти тысяч мужей. Иисус сказал Своим ученикам: — Рассадите их группами по пятьдесят человек.

They did so, and had them all sit down.

Они так и сделали, рассадили всех.

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and broke them, and kept giving them to the disciples to set before the people.

Взяв в руки пять хлебов и две рыбы, Он поднял глаза к небу, произнес благословение и, разломив еду, передал ученикам, чтобы те раздали её людям.

And they all ate and were satisfied; and the broken pieces which they had left over were picked up, twelve baskets full.

Все ели и наелись досыта, так что ученики набрали целых двенадцать корзин остатков.

And it happened that while He was praying alone, the disciples were with Him, and He questioned them, saying, “Who do the people say that I am?”

Однажды Он молился в уединенном месте. Его ученики были с Ним, и Он спросил их: — За кого люди Меня принимают?

They answered and said, “John the Baptist, and others say Elijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen again.”

Они ответили: — Кто за Иоанна Крестителя, кто за Илию, а третьи говорят, что воскрес кто-то из древних пророков.

And He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

Он спросил: — А вы Меня кем считаете? Петр ответил: — Помазанником Божьим.

But He warned them and instructed them not to tell this to anyone,

Но Иисус строго запретил им рассказывать об этом.

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day.”

Он сказал: — Сын Человеческий много претерпит, будет отвергнут старейшинами, первосвященниками и книжниками, будет казнён, но на третий день воскреснет.

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

И, обращаясь ко всем, Он сказал: — Кто хочет следовать за Мной, пусть отвергнет себя, каждый день берет свой крест и идет за Мной,

“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.

ибо кто хочет спасти свою жизнь, тот потеряет её, а кто потеряет свою жизнь ради Меня, тот спасет её.

“For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?

Что пользы человеку, если он приобрел весь мир, но погубил и потерял себя самого?

“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Кто постыдится Меня и Моих слов, того постыдится и Сын Человеческий, когда Он придет во всей славе Своей, в славе Отца и святых ангелов.

“But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

Говорю вам истину: некоторые из стоящих здесь не вкусят смерти, пока не увидят Царства Божьего.

Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray.

Спустя дней восемь после этой беседы Иисус, взяв с собой Петра, Иоанна и Иакова, поднялся на гору, чтобы там помолиться.

And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.

И когда Он молился, лицо Его преобразилось, одежда Его засверкала, как молния,

And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah,

и показались двое мужей, беседующих с Ним. То были Моисей и Илия

who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

во всей своей славе, и говорили они о Его предстоящем уходе, который должен был свершиться в Иерусалиме.

Now Peter and his companions had been overcome with sleep; but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him.

А Петра и его товарищей клонило ко сну, но, преодолев дремоту, они увидели исходящее от Иисуса сияние и двух мужей, стоящих возле Него.

And as these were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah” — not realizing what he was saying.

Когда те двое стали удаляться, Петр, сам не понимая что говорит, воскликнул: — Наставник, хорошо, что мы здесь! Давайте поставим три шалаша — один для Тебя, один для Моисея и один для Илии!

While he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.

Не успел он договорить, как укрыло их облако; оказавшись в облаке, они ужаснулись.

Then a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!”

И раздался из облака Голос: — Вот Сын Мой, которого Я избрал. Ему повинуйтесь!

And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

А когда голос смолк, ученики увидели, что Иисус снова один. Они сохранили это видение в тайне, никому о нём не рассказывали в то время.

On the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him.

На другой день, когда они спустились с горы, навстречу Иисусу вышла большая толпа.

And a man from the crowd shouted, saying, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my only boy,

Один человек из толпы вскричал: — Учитель! Прошу, взгляни на моего сына. Это мой единственный сын.

and a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it throws him into a convulsion with foaming at the mouth; and only with difficulty does it leave him, mauling him as it leaves.

Время от времени овладевает им дух, заставляя кричать и биться в припадке, с пеной у рта. Дух подолгу не отпускает его, оставляет его вконец измученным.

“I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not.”

Я просил Твоих учеников его изгнать, но у них не получается.

And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”

Отвечая ему, Иисус воскликнул: — О поколение, не имеющее веры и развращенное! Сколько ещё оставаться Мне с вами, доколе Мне вас терпеть? Веди сюда сына.

While he was still approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

Не успел мальчик подойти, как дух повалил его наземь, заставив биться в припадке, но Иисус, укротив злого духа, исцелил мальчика и вернул отцу.

And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. But while everyone was marveling at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples,

И все поразились величию Бога.Дела Его привели всех в восхищение, а Он сказал ученикам:

“Let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.”

— Запомните, что Я вам скажу: скоро Сын Человеческий будет выдан людям.

But they did not understand this statement, and it was concealed from them so that they would not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.

Но они не поняли этих слов; их значение осталось для них сокрытым, а переспросить они не решались.

An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest.

Как-то раз между учениками завязался спор о том, кто из них самый главный.

But Jesus, knowing what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side,

Разгадав их мысли, Иисус взял ребенка и, поставив его возле Себя,

and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.”

сказал им: — Кто во имя Мое примет этого ребенка, тот примет Меня, а кто примет Меня, тот примет и Пославшего меня. Наименьший из вас — вот кто самый главный!

John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.”

Иоанн, обращаясь к Нему, сказал: — Наставник! Мы видели человека, изгонявшего Твоим именем демонов, и попытались запретить ему это, потому что он не с нами.

But Jesus said to him, “Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you.”

Иисус ответил: — Не мешайте ему, ибо кто не против вас, тот с вами.

When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem;

Когда подошло Ему время быть взятым на небо, Он отправился в Иерусалим.

and He sent messengers on ahead of Him, and they went and entered a village of the Samaritans to make arrangements for Him.

Вестники, которых Он выслал перед Собою, зашли в деревню самаритян, чтобы приготовить Ему ночлег.

But they did not receive Him, because He was traveling toward Jerusalem.

Но тамошние жители отказались Его принять, узнав, что Он держит путь в Иерусалим.

When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”

Увидев это, Его ученики Иаков и Иоанн сказали: — Господин наш! Хочешь, мы прикажем огню сойти с неба и истребить их?

But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of;

Но Он, обернувшись, запретил им,

for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.”] And they went on to another village.

и они отправились в другую деревню.

As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.”

Когда они были в пути, один человек сказал Ему: — Я последую за Тобой, куда бы Ты ни пошел.

And Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

Иисус ответил: — У лис есть норы, у птиц небесных — гнезда, а Сыну Человеческому отдохнуть негде.

And He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.”

Другому человеку Он приказал: — Следуй за мной! Тот взмолился: — Господин мой, позволь мне сначала похоронить отца!

But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.”

Иисус ответил: — Пусть мертвые хоронят своих мертвых, а ты иди и возвещай Царство Божье.

Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home.”

А один человек сказал: — Я пойду за Тобой, Господин мой, но позволь мне сначала попрощаться с родными.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Иисус ответил: — Кто, взявшись за плуг, оглядывается, тот недостоин Царства Божьего.
