Как только наступило утро, главные священники, старейшины и законоучители со всем синедрионом стали совещаться и, связав Иисуса, увели Его, и передали Пилату.

And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

Пилат спросил Иисуса: «Ты — Царь Иудейский?» Иисус ответил ему: «Ты прав говоря, что Я — Царь Иудейский».

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.

Тогда главные священники начали предъявлять Ему множество обвинений.

And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.

Пилат стал снова спрашивать Его: «Ты собираешься отвечать? Видишь, как много обвинений против Тебя!»

And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

Но Иисус по-прежнему ничего не отвечал, и это очень удивило Пилата.

But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

В праздник Пасхи Пилат обычно отпускал на волю одного узника, за которого просил народ.

Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.

Один человек, по имени Варавва, находился в то время в заключении вместе с мятежниками, совершившими убийство во время мятежа.

And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

Тогда народ пришёл и стал просить Пилата сделать то, что он обычно делал для них.

And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.

Пилат спросил их: «Хотите, я отпущу для вас Царя Иудейского?» —

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

потому что он знал, что главные священники отдали ему Иисуса из зависти.

For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

Но главные священники подстрекали толпу просить Пилата, чтобы он отпустил им Варавву вместо Иисуса.

But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

Но Пилат снова обратился к ним: «Что же тогда вы хотите, чтобы я сделал с Тем, Кого вы называете Царём Иудейским?»

And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?

Они закричали в ответ: «Распни Его на кресте!»

And they cried out again, Crucify him.

Пилат спросил: «Почему? Какое преступление Он совершил?» Но они ещё сильнее закричали: «Распни Его!»

Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

Пилат хотел угодить толпе и поэтому освободил для них Варавву, а Иисуса отдал солдатам и приказал бичевать, а после того распять на кресте.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Солдаты отвели Его внутрь дворца, называемого преторием, и созвали весь полк.

And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.

Они надели на Него багровую накидку, а на голову сплетённый ими терновый венец,

And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,

а потом стали кричать Ему: «Приветствуем Тебя, Царь Иудейский!»

And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

Они били Его палкой по голове, плевали в Него и, издеваясь, становились на колени, и делали вид, что поклоняются Ему.

And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

Насмеявшись над Иисусом, они сняли с Него багровую накидку и, надев на Него Его собственную одежду, повели на распятие.

And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

Один киринеянин, по имени Симон, который был отцом Александра и Руфа, возвращался с поля и, так как он проходил мимо, солдаты заставили его нести крест, предназначенный для Иисуса.

And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Они привели Его к месту, называемому Голгофой, что значит «Лобное место».

And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

Солдаты попытались заставить Его выпить вино, смешанное с миррой, но Иисус отказался.

And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

И, распяв Его, солдаты поделили между собой Его одежду, бросая жребий, кому что взять.

And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.

Был девятый час, когда они распяли Иисуса.

And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

Обвинение против Него, написанное на табличке, гласило: «Царь Иудейский».

And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Вместе с Ним распяли двух разбойников: одного справа от Него, а другого слева.

And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

[И совершилось то, что сказано было в Писаниях: «И поместили Его среди преступников»].

And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

Проходящие мимо люди оскорбляли Его, кивая в Его сторону и говоря: «Эй, Ты, Который собирался разрушить храм и построить его за три дня,

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

что же Ты не спасёшь Самого Себя и не сойдёшь с креста?»

Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

Главные священники и законоучители тоже насмехались над Ним, говоря друг другу: «Он спасал других, а Себя спасти не может!

Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

Пусть же теперь этот Христос, Царь Израиля, сойдёт с креста. Когда мы увидим это, тогда и поверим в Него!» И те, кого распяли вместе с Ним, осыпали Его такими же оскорблениями.

Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

В полдень тьма наступила на всей земле и продолжалась до трёх часов пополудни.

And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

А в три часа пополудни Иисус закричал громким голосом: «Элои, Элои, лама савахтани?» — что значит: «Боже Мой, Боже Мой! Почему Ты покинул Меня?»

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

И когда некоторые из стоящих рядом услышали это, они сказали: «Послушайте! Он взывает к Илии!»

And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

Тогда один человек побежал, пропитал губку уксусом, прикрепил её к палке и дал Ему попить, говоря: «Погодите! Посмотрим, придёт ли Илия снять Его».

And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

Иисус же, громко воскликнув, испустил дух.

And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

И в тот же миг завеса храма разорвалась надвое сверху донизу.

And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

Когда центурион, стоявший напротив Него, увидел, как Христос испустил дух, сказал: «Этот Человек и вправду был Сыном Божьим!»

And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

Несколько женщин, находившихся там, наблюдали издали. Среди них были Мария Магдалина, Мария, её младшего сына звали Иаков, а старшего Иосия, и Саломия,

There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

следовавшие за Иисусом и помогавшие Ему, когда Он находился в Галилее. Было там и много других женщин, пришедших с Ним в Иерусалим.

(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

Так как этот день был днём приготовления, то есть пятницей, днём перед субботой, и уже темнело,

And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,

Иосиф из Аримафеи, уважаемый член совета также ожидавший наступления Царства Божьего, смело войдя к Пилату, попросил отдать ему тело Иисуса.

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counseller, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

Пилат удивился тому, что Он так быстро умер, и поэтому, позвав центуриона, спросил, давно ли Он умер.

And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

И когда Пилат услышал рассказ центуриона, он отдал тело Иосифу.

And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

Тот, купив льняной материи, снял Иисуса с креста, завернул Его в покров, поместил в высеченную в скале гробницу и привалил к входу в неё камень.

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

Мария Магдалина и Мария, мать Иосии, видели, куда положили Иисуса.

And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
