И снова начал Он учить у берега моря; и собирается к Нему толпа весьма многолюдная, так что Он, войдя в лодку, был на море, а вся толпа на земле у моря.

He began to teach again by the sea. And such a very large crowd gathered to Him that He got into a boat in the sea and sat down; and the whole crowd was by the sea on the land.

И учил Он их в притчах многому и говорил им в учении Своем:

And He was teaching them many things in parables, and was saying to them in His teaching,

слушайте, вот, вышел сеятель сеять.

“Listen to this! Behold, the sower went out to sow;

И было: когда он сеял, иное семя упало при дороге, и прилетели птицы и поклевали его.

as he was sowing, some seed fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate it up.

И другое упало на камень, где у него немного было земли, и тотчас взошло, ибо земля у него не была глубока;

“Other seed fell on the rocky ground where it did not have much soil; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of soil.

и когда взошло солнце, было опалено и, не имея корня, засохло.

“And after the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

И другое упало в терние, и поднялось терние и заглушило его, и плода оно не дало.

“Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it yielded no crop.

И другие упали на землю добрую и давали плод, поднимаясь и возростая, и приносили по тридцати и по шестидесяти и по ста.

“Other seeds fell into the good soil, and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”

И говорил им: кто имеет уши слышать, да слышит!

And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

И когда Он оказался один, стали спрашивать Его окружающие вместе с Двенадцатью о притчах.

As soon as He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables.

И говорил им: вам дана тайна Царства Божия, тем же внешним всё бывает в притчах,

And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables,

чтобы они глазами глядели и не увидели, и слухом слышали и не уразумели, чтобы не обратились они, и не было прощено им.

so that WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND, OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT RETURN AND BE FORGIVEN.”

И говорит им: не постигаете этой притчи? Как же вы поймете все притчи?

And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?

Сеятель сеет слово.

“The sower sows the word.

И вот те, что при дороге, где сеется слово: когда они услышат, тотчас приходит сатана и уносит слово, посеянное в них.

“These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.

А вот подобным же образом и те, что сеются на камне: они, когда услышат слово, тотчас с радостью принимают его,

“In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy;

но не имеют корня в себе и держатся короткое время; потом с наступлением скорби или гонения за слово, тотчас соблазняются.

and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.

И вот другие, те, что сеются в тернии: это — услышавшие слово,

“And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word,

и заботы века и обольщение богатства и прочие вожделения, входя, заглушают слово, и оно делается бесплодным.

but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

А вот и те, что на земле доброй посеяны: они слышат слово и принимают и дают плод по тридцати и по шестидесяти и по ста.

“And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”

И говорил им: разве для того приносится светильник, чтобы поставить его под сосуд или под кровать? Не для того ли, чтобы поставить его на подсвечник?

And He was saying to them, “A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?

Ведь, если что скрыто, то лишь для того, чтобы быть обнаруженным, и сокровенным оно стало только для того, чтобы выйти наружу.

“For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light.

Если кто имеет уши слышать, да слышит.

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

И говорил им: замечайте, что слышите: какою мерой мерите, такою будут мерить вам, и будет прибавлено вам.

And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.

Ибо кто имеет, тому будет дано, и кто не имеет, у того будет взято и то, что имеет.

“For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”

И говорил: таково Царство Божие: оно подобно человеку, который бросит семя в землю,

And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil;

и спит и встает, ночью и днем, а семя всходит и тянется вверх, он сам не знает как;

and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows — how, he himself does not know.

земля сама собой дает плод: сперва зелень, потом колос, потом полное зерно в колосе;

“The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head.

когда же созреет плод, он тотчас посылает серп, потому что настала жатва.

“But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

И говорил: каким подобием выразить нам Царство Божие? Или в какой притче представить его?

And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it?

Подобием зерна горчичного. Когда его посеют в землю, оно, самое маленькое из всех семян на земле,

“It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is smaller than all the seeds that are upon the soil,

поднимается и становится больше всех овощей и пускает большие ветви, так что птицы небесные могут вить гнёзда под тенью его.

yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and forms large branches; so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR can NEST UNDER ITS SHADE.”

И такими многими притчами Он говорил им, насколько они могли слышать.

With many such parables He was speaking the word to them, so far as they were able to hear it;

Без притчи же им не говорил, но ученикам Своим отдельно от других объяснял всё.

and He did not speak to them without a parable; but He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples.

И говорит им в тот день, когда вечер настал: переправимся на ту сторону.

On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.”

И они, оставив народ, берут Его с собой, как Он был в лодке; и другие лодки были с Ним.

Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him.

И поднимается сильный вихрь; и волны били в лодку, так что лодка уже наполнялась водой.

And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.

А Он спал на корме на изголовье. И будят Его и говорят Ему: Учитель, Тебе всё равно, что мы погибаем?

Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

И проснувшись. Он возбранил ветру и сказал морю: молчи, стихни. И прекратился ветер, и настала тишина великая.

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.

И сказал им: что вы так боязливы? Как у вас нет веры?

And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

И они устрашились страхом великим и говорили друг другу: кто же Он, что и ветер и море повинуются Ему?

They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
