Было же в дни те: вышел указ от кесаря Августа о переписи всей вселенной

But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.

Это была первая перепись в правление Квириния Сирией.

The census itself first took place when Cyrenius had the government of Syria.

И шли все записываться, каждый в свой город.

And all went to be inscribed in the census roll, each to his own city:

И пошел также Иосиф из Галилеи из города Назарета в Иудею в город Давидов, называемый Вифлеем, потому что был он из дома и рода Давидова,

and Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city Nazareth to Judaea, to David's city, the which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,

записаться с Мариам, обрученною ему, которая была беременна.

to be inscribed in the census roll with Mary who was betrothed to him [as his] wife, she being great with child.

Было же: пока они находились там, исполнились дни, когда Она должна была родить,

And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth [to her child] were fulfilled,

и родила Она Сына Своего первенца и спеленала Его и положила Его в яслях, потому что не было им места в гостинице.

and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

И были в этой стране пастухи, жившие под открытым небом и стерегшие ночью стадо свое.

And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.

И ангел Господень предстал им, и слава Господня осияла их, и они устрашились страхом великим.

And lo, an angel of [the] Lord was there by them, and [the] glory of [the] Lord shone around them, and they feared [with] great fear.

И сказал им ангел: не бойтесь. Ибо вот, благовествую вам радость великую, которая будет всему народу:

And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;

родился вам сегодня в городе Давидовом Спаситель, Который есть Христос Господь.

for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ [the] Lord.

И вот вам знамение: вы найдете Младенца спелёнатого и лежащего в яслях.

And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.

И внезапно вместе с ангелом явилось множество воинства небесного, хваля Бога и говоря:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,

Слава в вышних Богу, и на земле мир, в людях благоволение.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men.

И было: когда отошли от них на небо ангелы, пастухи стали говорить друг другу: дойдем же до Вифлеема и посмотрим, что такое произошло, о чем Господь объявил нам.

And it came to pass, as the angels departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us make our way then now as far as Bethlehem, and let us see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.

И они поспешили придти, и нашли и Мариам, и Иосифа, и Младенца, лежащего в яслях.

And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger;

Увидев же, сообщили о том, что им сказано было об Этом Дитяти.

and having seen [it] they made known about the country the thing which had been said to them concerning this child.

И все услышавшие удивились сказанному им пастухами.

And all who heard [it] wondered at the things said to them by the shepherds.

Мариам же все слова эти сохраняла, слагая в сердце Своем.

But Mary kept all these things [in her mind], pondering [them] in her heart.

И возвратились пастухи, славя и хваля Бога за всё, что они увидели и услышали так, как было сказано им.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they had heard and seen, as it had been said to them.

И когда исполнилось восемь дней, чтобы обрезать Его, тогда и наречено было имя Ему: Иисус, данное ангелом прежде зачатия Его во чреве.

And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.

И когда исполнились дни очищения их по Закону Моисееву, принесли Его в Иерусалим, чтобы поставить пред Господом,

And when the days were fulfilled for their purifying according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present [him] to the Lord

как написано в Законе Господнем: «Всякое существо мужеского пола, разверзающее материнскую утробу, да будет посвящено Господу»,

(as it is written in the law of [the] Lord: Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),

и чтобы принести жертву по сказанному в Законе Господнем: пару горлиц или двух птенцов голубиных.

and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of [the] Lord: A pair of turtle doves, or two young pigeons.

И вот, был в Иерусалиме человек, которому имя Симеон, человек праведный и благоговейный, ожидающий утешения Израиля, и Дух Святой был на нем.

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was just and pious, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and [the] Holy Spirit was upon him.

И было ему открыто Духом Святым, что он не увидит смерти, прежде чем не увидит Христа Господня.

And it was divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he should see [the] Lord's Christ.

И пришел он в Духе в храм, и когда принесли родители Младенца Иисуса, чтобы совершить над Ним установленное по Закону,

And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and as the parents brought in the child Jesus that they might do for him according to the custom of the law,

он взял Его на руки, благословил Бога и сказал:

he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,

Теперь отпускаешь Ты раба Твоего, Владыко, по слову Твоему, с миром,

Lord, now thou lettest thy bondman go, according to thy word, in peace;

ибо видели очи мои спасение Твое,

for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

которое Ты уготовал пред лицом всех народов:

which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;

свет во откровение язычникам, и славу народа Твоего Израиля.

a light for revelation of [the] Gentiles and [the] glory of thy people Israel.

И отец Его и Мать удивлялись тому, что говорилось о Нем.

And his father and mother wondered at the things which were said concerning him.

И благословил их Симеон и сказал Мариам, Матери Его: вот. Он лежит на падение и восстание многих во Израиле и в знамение прорекаемое,

And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Lo, this [child] is set for the fall and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against;

и Тебе же Самой душу пройдет меч, чтобы раскрыты были во многих сердцах помышления.

(and even a sword shall go through thine own soul;) so that [the] thoughts may be revealed from many hearts.

И была Анна пророчица, дочь Фануила, из колена Асирова. Она достигла весьма преклонного возраста, прожив с мужем семь лет от девства своего,

And there was a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Phanuel, of [the] tribe of Asher, who was far advanced in years, having lived with [her] husband seven years from her virginity,

и вдовой до восьмидесяти четырех лет. Она не отходила от храма, постом и молитвою служа Богу день и ночь.

and herself a widow up to eighty-four years; who did not depart from the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers;

И в этот час, подойдя, она славила Бога и говорила о Нем всем ожидающим искупления Иерусалима.

and she coming up the same hour gave praise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who waited for redemption in Jerusalem.

И когда они совершили всё положенное по Закону Господню, то возвратились в Галилею в город свой Назарет.

And when they had completed all things according to the law of [the] Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own city Nazareth.

Дитя же росло и укреплялось, исполняясь премудрости, и благодать Божия была на Нем.

And the child grew and waxed strong [in spirit], filled with wisdom, and God's grace was upon him.

И ходили родители Его каждый год в Иерусалим на праздник Пасхи.

And his parents went yearly to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.

И по достижении Им двенадцати лет, когда восходили они в Иерусалим по обычаю Праздника,

And when he was twelve years old, and they went up [to Jerusalem] according to the custom of the feast

и совершили положенные дни, — при возвращении остался Отрок Иисус в Иерусалиме, и не заметили этого родители Его.

and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not [of it];

Думая же, что Он со спутниками, прошли они дневной путь и стали искать Его среди родственников и знакомых,

but, supposing him to be in the company that journeyed together, they went a day's journey, and sought him among their relations and acquaintances:

и не найдя, возвратились в Иерусалим, ища Его.

and not having found him they returned to Jerusalem seeking him.

И было: через три дня нашли они Его в храме, сидящего между учителями и слушающего их и задающего им вопросы;

And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.

и изумлялись все слушающие Его разуму и ответам Его.

And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

И увидев Его, они были поражены, и сказала Ему Матерь Его: Дитя Мое, почему поступил Ты с нами так? Вот, отец Твой и Я с болью ищем Тебя.

And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.

И сказал Он им: что же вы искали Меня? Не знали вы, что Мне надлежит быть во владениях Отца Моего?

And he said to them, Why [is it] that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be [occupied] in my Father's business?

И они не поняли слова, которое Он сказал им.

And they understood not the thing that he said to them.

И Он ушел с ними и пришел в Назарет, и был в повиновении у них, и Матерь Его хранила всё это в сердце Своем.

And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.

А Иисус преуспевал в премудрости и возрасте и любви у Бога и людей.

And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.
