Когда Иисус закончил все эти речи, Он сказал ученикам:

Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples,

«Вы знаете, что послезавтра Пасха и Сын Человеческий будет отдан на распятие».

“You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

После этого во дворце первосвященника Кайяфы собрались первосвященники и старейшины Израиля

Then the chief priests, [a]the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

и стали совещаться, как им незаметно схватить Иисуса и убить Его.

and plotted to take Jesus by [b]trickery and kill Him.

Они говорили: «Лишь бы не во время праздника, чтобы в народе не началась смута».

But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”

А Иисус был в Бет-Ание, в доме Шимона-прокажённого.

And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,

Во время трапезы к Нему подошла женщина с алебастровым сосудом дорогого благовония и вылила благовоние Ему на голову.

a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.

Ученики с возмущением сказали: «К чему такая расточительность?

But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?

Ведь за это благовоние можно было выручить немалые деньги и раздать беднякам!»

For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”

Услышав это, Иисус сказал: «Что вы смущаете женщину? Она сделала для Меня доброе дело.

But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.

Ведь бедняки с вами всегда, а Я — не всегда.

For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

Умастив Моё тело, она приготовила Меня к погребению.

For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial.

Говорю вам истину: по всему миру, где будет провозглашаться Весть, вспомнят и её и расскажут о том, что она сделала».

Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

Тогда один из Двенадцати, Иуда Иш-Карийот, пошёл к первосвященникам

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

и спросил: «Сколько вы мне дадите, если я вам Его выдам?» Они отсчитали ему тридцать серебряных шекелей.

and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

С того времени он искал удобного случая, чтобы выдать Его.

So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

В первый день праздника Пресного Хлеба88 ученики, подойдя к Иисусу, спросили: «Где нам приготовить для тебя пасхальную трапезу?»

Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

Он ответил: «Отправляйтесь в город к такому-то и передайте: Учитель говорит: “Час мой близок; Я с учениками отпраздную у тебя Пасху”».

And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.” ’ ”

Ученики поступили, как им велел Иисус, и приготовили пасхальную трапезу.

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.

А вечером Он возлёг за столом с Двенадцатью89.

When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.

И когда они ели, Он сказал: «Я говорю вам истину: один из вас выдаст Меня».

Now as they were eating, He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.”

Их охватила печаль, и они начали наперебой его спрашивать: «Господин мой, неужели я?»

And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, “Lord, is it I?”

Он ответил: «Кто обмакнул хлеб в блюдо вместе со Мной, тот Меня и выдаст.

He answered and said, “He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

Сын Человеческий уходит, как сказано о Нём в Писании, но горе тому, кто выдаст Сына Человеческого! Лучше бы тому человеку вовсе не родиться».

The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

А Иуда, который собирался выдать его, спросил: «Рабби, неужели я?» Он ответил: «Ты сам сказал».

Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, “Rabbi, is it I?” He said to him, “You have said it.”

Когда они ели, Иисус взял хлеб, произнёс над ним благословение, разломил его и, раздавая ученикам, сказал: «Возьмите и ешьте, это Моё тело».

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, [c]blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”

И взяв чашу, Он произнёс над ней благодарение и, передав её им, сказал:

Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

«Это Моя кровь, скрепляющая Договор90. Она проливается за многих для прощения грехов.

For this is My blood of the [d]new covenant, which is shed for many for the [e]remission of sins.

Говорю вам, в следующий раз Я буду пить с вами от плода виноградной лозы только в Царстве Отца Моего».

But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

И, спев хвалебный псалом, они отправились на гору Олив.

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Тогда Иисус сказал им: «Этой ночью все вы отступитесь от Меня, ибо в Писании сказано:Поражу пастуха, и овцы разбегутся91.

Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be [f]made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Но Я, воскреснув, раньше вас приду в Галилею».

But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”

Пётр ответил: «Если даже все отступятся от Тебя, я не отступлюсь!»

Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are [g]made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”

Иисус сказал: «Я говорю тебе истину: этой ночью, прежде чем пропоёт петух, как ты трижды от Меня отречёшься».

Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

Пётр воскликнул: «Даже если мне придётся умереть с Тобой, я от Тебя не отрекусь!» То же самое говорили и остальные ученики.

Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples.

После этого они с Иисусом пришли к месту под названием Гат-Шемани, и Он сказал ученикам: «Подождите здесь, а Я отойду и помолюсь».

Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.”

И взял с собой Петра и двух сыновей Завдая. Печаль и тоска охватили Его,

And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

и Он сказал им: «Меня мучит смертельная тоска92. Оставайтесь здесь и не спите, побудьте со Мной».

Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

Пройдя немного дальше, Он пал ниц и молился: «Отец мой! Если только возможно, да минует Меня эта чаша! Но пусть будет не как Я хочу, а как Ты».

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

Вернувшись к ученикам, Он застал их спящими и сказал Петру: «Вы не в силах были бодрствовать со Мной и часу?

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?

Бодрствуйте и молитесь, чтобы избежать испытания: дух ревностен, но плоть бессильна».

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Отойдя, Он снова молился: «Отец мой! Если невозможно, чтобы миновала Меня эта чаша, и Я должен выпить её, пусть исполнится Твоя воля!»

Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, [h]if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”

Вернувшись, Он опять застал их спящими, ибо их веки отяжелели.

And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

Оставив их и опять отойдя, Он в третий раз молился теми же словами.

So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

Затем, вернувшись к ученикам, Он сказал: «Вы всё ещё спокойно спите? Уже пробил час, и Сын Человеческий выдаётся грешникам.

Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour [i]is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Вставайте, идём! Тот, кто выдаст Меня, уже здесь!»

Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

Не успел он договорить, как появился Иуда, один из Двенадцати, а ним большая толпа с мечами и дубинами, посланная первосвященниками и старейшинами Израиля.

And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

Предатель условился с ними: «Кого я поцелую, это Он и есть, Его и хватайте».

Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.”

И тут же, подойдя к Иисусу, он сказал: «Приветствую Тебя, рабби!» — и поцеловал его.

Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.

Иисус ответил: «Не трать время, друг!» Тогда они подошли к Иисусу и схватили Его.

But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.

Тут один из тех, кто был с Иисусом, выхватил меч и, ударив раба первосвященника, отрубил ему ухо.

And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Но Иисус сказал ему: «Спрячь меч, ибо взявший меч от меча и погибнет.

But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will [j]perish by the sword.

Ты думаешь, Я не мог бы воззвать к Отцу и Он не послал бы Мне немедленно более двенадцати легионов ангелов?

Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?

Но так всё и должно случиться, ибо иначе не исполнились бы Писания».

How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?”

И тут же обратился к толпе: «Разве разбойник Я, что вы пришли за Мной с мечами и дубинами? Каждый день Я сидел в Храме и учил, и вы не схватили Меня!

In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.

Но всё это произошло, чтобы исполнились писания пророков». Тогда ученики, бросив Его, бежали.

But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

Схватившие Иисуса отвели Его к Кайяфе, первосвященнику, у которого уже собрались книжники и старейшины.

And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

А Пётр следовал за ним в отдалении до самого дворца первосвященника и, войдя во двор, сел рядом со слугами и стал ждать, чем всё закончится.

But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

Первосвященники и весь синедрион пытались добыть ложные показания против Иисуса, чтобы приговорить его к смерти.

Now the chief priests, [k]the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,

Однако, несмотря на большое число лжесвидетелей, они ничего не нашли. Наконец вышли двое

[l]but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two [m]false witnesses came forward

и сказали: «Он говорил, что может разрушить Божий Храм и за три дня восстановить его».

and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’ ”

Тут встал первосвященник и спросил Иисуса: «Почему Ты не отвечаешь на их свидетельства?»

And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”

Иисус молчал. Тогда первосвященник обратился к нему: «Я заклинаю Тебя Богом Живым: скажи нам, Ты ли Помазанник и Сын Божий?»

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

Иисус ответил: «Ты сам сказал. А Я скажу вам: теперь вы увидите, как Сын Человеческий сидит по правую руку от Всемогущего и идёт на облаках небесных93».

Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

При этих словах первосвященник разорвал на себе одежды и воскликнул: «Это богохульство! Зачем нам ещё свидетели? Теперь вы и сами услышали, как он богохульствует.

Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

Как по-вашему?» Они ответили: «Он достоин смерти».

What do you think?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”

После этого они плевали Ему в лицо и били Его, а некоторые давали пощёчины

Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with [n]the palms of their hands,

и требовали: «Изреки нам пророчество, Помазанник, кто Тебя ударил?»

saying, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?”

Между тем Пётр сидел во дворе. К нему подошла одна из служанок и сказала: «Ведь и ты был с Иисусом Галилеянином!»

Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”

Но он перед всеми отрёкся: «Я не знаю, о чём ты говоришь», —

But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”

и отошёл к воротам. Там его увидела другая служанка и сказала стоявшим поблизости: «Вот этот был с Иисусом Назареем».

And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

И он опять отрёкся, поклявшись: «Я не знаю такого».

But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”

Немного спустя к Петру подошли люди, стоявшие неподалёку, и сказали: «Наверняка ты один из них. Тебя и выговор выдаёт».

And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.”

Тогда он стал клятвенно заверять: «Я не знаю этого Человека». И тотчас запел петух.

Then he began to [o]curse and [p]swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.

Тут Пётр вспомнил слова Иисуса: «Прежде чем пропоёт петух, ты трижды от Меня отречёшься», — и, выйдя вон, горько заплакал.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.

[88] Праздник Пресного Хлеба (хаг-хаммацот) первоначально был праздником урожая ячменя, во время которого полагалось есть лишь хлеб из бездрожжевого, неквашенного теста («пресный хлеб»). В послепленный период этот праздник был соединен с Пасхой (см. Втор 16:1—8), так что день празднования Пасхи совпадал с началом семидневного праздника Пресного Хлеба. В результате этого соединения сам пресный хлеб (маца) стал символом, напоминающим о выходе из Египта — освобождении от египетского рабства.
